Does anyone have any more info on this car or can tell me what model car it is? I saw it on Chop Cut Rebuild, but can find no info what so ever.

I'm sure it was built as a show car to get peoples attention. It may have been in SEMA or something.

I want to learn more about how it was engineered. Notice that the back hatch has to open before the roof can be tilted? Is it using hydraulic cylinders much like convertible cars do or is it motorized using large linear actuators. That's what I find interesting.

There is a company called Five Axis that makes one-off cars and Scion has commissioned at least 4 from them, but I can't find this car linked to them in any way.

Here are some Five Axis Scions:

The mobile DJ car.

The big TV car:

The X-box Roadster:

Scion concept car:

Plus 3 or 4 for Toyota/Lexus.

scion xA for sure, but def a one off show car. remember companies just use show cars to show off what they can do with a large budget. Ive never been big on show cars but some of the styling we see today may not have happened if it werent for show cars.

Hey, I finally found it thanks to you guys identifying it as a Scion XA. All these import cars look the same to me.

Scion xA "Pimped" With PlayStation 3
By Michael McWhertor, 5:00 PM on Fri Nov 3 2006, 4,564 views

At this week's SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) show, nestled within the Sony "Xplod" booth, lives this heavily customize 2004 Scion xA. Custom painted in PlayStation 3 red and black, the car also contains a real, working, all-hooked-up PS3.

Hooked up to what? Tons of monitors! A roof embedded 46" widescreen TV, another 26" TV in the rear hatch, and thirteen additional monitors installed throughout the interior means your passengers can watch you play Gran Turismo HD from any angle.
