I wouldn't have been near the vacinity of the factory b/c you take a chance of an explosion like that if your response is quick. Especially when your dealing with Hazardous Materials like Fireworks (Explosion Hazard). I am not a municipal firefighter, but I work for a chemical plant and I'm on the ER Team. We mess with HazMat, but nothing of this nature.

It's good to hear that no one would have to run up on that.

I saw a vid of a metal recycling plant on fire. They had powdered magnesium in barrels. When the water hit the burning magnesium, BOOM!

http://www.wsws.org/articles/2000/ma...neth-m31.shtml

"100 tonnes of fireworks and other explosives detonated after a fire in the factory of S.E. Fireworks, situated in the middle of the working class housing estate of Mekkelholt in the northern Dutch city of Enschede."

"In a split second almost 400 houses were reduced to their foundations and another 1,000 damaged. Eighteen people were killed. A further 946 were injured, 23 of whom are still being treated in nearby hospitals—four in intensive care. "
