proof? Everyone knows Harlan's car is a turbo setup... the question is who raced the bikes. You are full of fail until Harlan comes in here and says it was him. I have seen that video posted elsewhere with the info i posted.

I've met the guy several times, know his voice...its the same as in the vid, he lives in detroit (waterford) as you can hear from the radio station.

This vid has been around for much longer than either you or CALL911 have been members here, so how would you know?.....really. That vid is circa 2001. I bought the kit in '04. Threadfail saved.

 

It doesnt count that you own that kit... no one cares that you own Harlan's old kit. There is no walk around or under the hood shot, so saying you own Harlan's old kit doesn't mean squat.

It could very well be Harlan's car in the video... obviously there are some people like myself and Call911 that have heard different stories (the one I heard is different then his). you guys get butt hurt too easy... just looking for some REAL confirmation.

 

There is no story. It was a LS1, hence Matt's user name here (y2khawk - yes, 2000 firehawk = LS1).

I guess the point I am trying to make here is that without proof there's no way of having evidence it was an LT1 or LS1. Even if I tracked down the guy that I met at the GM event with the Turbo LT1 who I believe was in this race, and he popped in here and claimed "yeah, it was me", what proof is that?

I could just as easily say "everyone knows it was so and so with his turbo LT1", "heres a thread with him talking about him beating up the bikes he raced on the highway".

 

Read the rest of that thread genius. How many Trans Am videos do YOU know of that mistakenly raced a GSXR1000, ran another bike instead, happened in Detriot, that everyone but YOU recognize, AND that Harlan claims as his own, and NOBODY questioned it then?

All we have factual wise is whats from the video. You can hear from the radio station that he was picking up Detroit radio. You can also see on his windsheild that it he had been at a track. This supports that he had just came from the GM track event in Michigan I spoke of earlier. But that still isn't proof either.

Anyone remember that Lingenfelter vette that beat up on that dsm... oldest video on the web... but it took awhile for it to come out that it was a DRM vette. Point is there are always different stories floating around, Call911 both heard different versions... my version already was eliminated by my contacting the person i heard it was. We aren't trying to prove it wasn't harlan, more like find the thread that shows it was.

No white faced dash gauges as they are in the video, and the pillar is black in the video vs white in the pics. That, and he has a gauge in the vent from the dash nearest the drivers side door in the pic, but in the video its just the vent. All of that could always have been changed though.

The GM meet I met him at was hosted by CZ28.com and was called "M6". Not sure if I found out the date if it would make any difference to try and coordinate it with the video. I do recall the video coming up shortly after I met him at M6.

 

You guys are funny. I'm not saying that I'm boys with Harlan, but we've hung out plenty of times with Stenod.
That's Matt's vid...and it was a LS1. You guys don't even know him and you're calling BS.

 

It wouldn't be if I didn't meet the dude at the meet and see the car in person before he posted up the vid.

Unfortunatly, I still don't think either side will be able to prove it with more than what has already been stated.
