what the hell, whistler is a MF genious. it seems like he's one of the first, if not the first, to do
like every thing.

bowtie_racer, personally i think you should get rid of the blackouts. red lights look great up against
a red car. if i had a red camaro i'd probably do something similar to Sommers car. but i have another idea for
a set of lights i think would look GREAT with his same set up...

i'd do the opposite of these lights- that way the black would flow perfectly with the "berger" panel, and the
red would help pull it all together with the red of the car. i did these months ago, and have yet to install them
on the car.

and heres a better back shot of the camaro.

and a picture of the backshot of the T/A. yeah its not the same car, but being red, the concept is still similar.
use the red of the lights to your advantage.

tomorrow... i also decided to swap rims between the 2 cars so i could see how the camaro looked balck on black.
i just did it a few hours ago, and it was too dark to take any pictures, so i was already planning to tomorrow.
im gonna repaint and try another black/white set of lights i have lying around as well.

unfortunately, the camaros about to be sell in a couple weeks. the trans am will be following it a couple
weeks later... and then i'll be getting a new project

So you think I should black out everything but the reverse light and do the reverse light red. Then paint the berger black?

I really do want to get rid of the blackouts (I have heard some horror stories about them). I like the lights blacked out and I like the berger panel blacked out. I just wasnt sure if they looked good together, or which one looked better if I only did one of the other. I love the look of the lights all red also, so now I have even more decisions to make. Haha

One of the other reasons I was considering blacking them out is, I have only seen a few red cars with clear corners up front, and they didnt look very good, so I was gonna vht those to get rid of those hideous amber lenses and wanted to kind of stay with a theme. So now I have a million ideas going on in my head and im still unsure.

Here is a shot of the back about a week after I got it. (still running on a kansas tag from the previous owner) I had already tinted the windows. It has billet emblems on the sides and back and I have considered putting the chrome looking inlays in the berger to match whether I leave it red or paint it. Yes I know about the crappy antenna too, I need to do something with this as well.

i see where you're coming from. heres how i see it... as your car sits right now, with the grill, tints, black
roof, rear view mirrors, and headlight buckets, you already have a red/black theme going. i definitely think
your best option for the DRL/turn signals is to black them out with some VHT. clear would look good with a more
red/white or red/silver look. and we all now how bad ambers look. for the rear of the car, i think any of the
options mentioned earlier would fit perfectly with the rest of the car (all red lights w/ or w/o berger, blacked out
with berger, or black/red with berger)

Cant wait to see them, I almost wish I could pay you to do them, I'm afraid im gonna mess them up.

On a side note... Your 99 looks BAD! Makes me wish mine was black every time I see it. So you are selling both of them? Whats the new project?

3rd post down or so in the thread linked below shows the taillights blacked, but leaving the reverse clear. flows great with the berber panel. if you did the black berger and tallights, with the red reverses to flow with the red paint, i would love to see that. that'd probly be one of a kind around here anyway.
