There are three scheduled launches left before the shuttle program is retired.
Code:
May 14, 2010 Atlantis Last planned Atlantis flight; STS-132
July 29, 2010 Endeavour Last planned Endeavour flight; STS-134[45]
September 16, 2010 Discovery Last planned Discovery flight; last planned flight of the Space Shuttle program; STS-133
I've never had the chance to see a launch so I guess I should start planning to make it to one of these.

I wish I wasn't so broke. I would love to go to any of them. It's like watching the ultimate funny car

I meant to say last night time shuttle launch. This one wasn't supposed to launch it night, it was delayed because of cloud cover.

Oh, and there was supposed to be another rocket program that would be ready by 2012, so we could get back to the moon, but the great administration in the white house is talking about scrapping it. There was talk about extending the shuttle program though.

For the time being, we will have to use other countries rockets to get to the space station.

Thanks to the big O. I wasn't a fan of Bush, but in the end of his reign he had plans to go to the moon again. Now Obama is in, it's all scrapped. We have to pay for our socialized healthcare somehow.

In 10 years we will start using vacuum tubes to power electronics. :p (Russia still uses them instead of transistors.. backwards socialistic gov all those years.. )

"privatizing" space travel because companies do stuff cheaper than gov't, and "socializing" medicine because gov't does stuff cheaper than companies......DANGER, DANGER WILL ROBINSON! DOES NOT COMPUTE! DOES NOT COMPUTE!"

BTW I think both the Rs and Ds suck. Neither side has a moral leg up on the other.

We need to do away with the 2 party system.

political rant over/

The Shuttle program lasted longer than it was supposed to. For the time being we'll use Russian Soyuz spacecraft to get to the ISS.
