OK, lets slow it down a little for you as you should be used to that; (doing things slower).

Lets say the test was of the 1992 cars and one was the auto only z28 and you had to pit it against the auto dogpiss slow comparitive 1992 5.0. You'd be 'upset' as you KNEW the auto 5.0 was a poor runner.

The auto SS makes LESS power than the normal one and everyone and their mother knows that a stock auto trans isn't performance oriented. Now Ford is at their a-game with the SAME HP offered in that car with a trans that is more suited stall wise to a dig esp with the gear.

Is the auto version of the mustang hands down faster than the SS? YES. You bet your *** it is. No argument there. Could a REAL mustang GT get around a REAL SS or vice versa is the question. No roadtest ever picks the auto cars as they never perform as well on open track duty aswell as straightline unless it was designed as an auto only platform.

By trying to remove 'driver error' they watered down any real excitement to be had. Who knows if they were allowed to brake torque or just floor it or what. Get two of the GOOD ones out and run them again. THAT is the test I want to see.

Now you can return to crying why no one wants to see mustangs on an Fbody forum. Read my sig ********...I freaking HAVE one

I agree, however, the Mustang does seem to have some damn good scoot off the line for a stock car

mustang seems faster out of the gate but must be slow on the big end cause of the gear, however after seeing the way new camaros run with just a tune prob be diff results. I can't deny mustang runs strong but im still a GM diehard!

And if you put a 150 shot on the Mustang it would drag the Camaro with a tunes ***. Looking at stock to stock performance, modding one and leaving the other stock isn't a valid argument.

some just don't accept the truth that ford can make faster mustang.

now that's a good competition for GM .

It looks to me like they left at the same time on the second run and the mustang put the smack down. As far as auto vs. stick for the SS they all seem to run about the same at my track, low 13's. I also haven't seen one run on anything but a street tire. I have yet to see one locally run 12's. I really doubt the mustang is maxed out, put a 4k stall in it with sticky tires and that thing is running 11's or close to it. I still wouldn't own a mustang, I was brain washed as a kid!!

Yea seriously. Thats the most ricer argument there is " well if you do this and leave the other one stock..."

Looks like some people are seriously but hurt by this news.

This is true. The only thing left to be seen is which car will respond better to mods. My money is on the LS3 car, even though I drive a Ford...

Whats funny is, right here and now is the best time to be a performance car enthusiast. The performance of these cars are awesome, they are heavier but their making some power. Ford for a while didn't have to care what the Mustang GT made, no competition for the last 8 years. Now the Camaro is out, GM got the ergonomics right to sell the car to wide array of people, Ford needs to put the fire back in a 6 year old design. 5 point 1 has it right, to most of us the verdict is still out, I want to see how this this Mustang does mod for mod. I'm also a hard core GM guy though my avatar and sig are more to mess with my friends on here. I could see buying a new Mustang if I needed 4 seats

Congrats to Ford!! And yes to those who claim that the stick has 22 more hp but the auto...doesn't. This race was against two automatic cars, not a manual vs an auto. I'd be interested to see a stick vs stick competition for sure but as this video shows (aside from the Camaro driver's slow reaction time) the Mustang beat the camaro hands down. Congrats to Ford, let GM step back up to the plate now!!!

The 5.0 is going to be sick on the streets from factory, if it responds well to bolt ons. I can see the Mustang completely leaving everybody behind
