Unless you speak german 90% of this video wont make sense, but zoom ahead to 8:30.
I cant believe how hard this bike pulls the ZR1

he wasn't even riding hard on the bike, you can see he wasn't even close to red line and just pulling each gear mid way through
you should't be surprised...... the zx-10 right now is the baddest bike stock, it the only bike to break the 150mph barrier in the 1/4 mile right off the showroom floor
and the winner of the 0-180mph shootout with every large cc bike tested..... and not only did it win, it won by ALOT
the zx-10 does 114mph in 1st gear
and this new bmw sportbike is suppose to be in line to challenge the zx-10
________________________________________
think power to weight ratio, the zx-10 makes 184 crank hp........ 166 rwhp
and weighs in at 375 lbs
add a 170 lb rider and you have 545 lbs with 166 rwhp.......
in car terms thats like a 5450 lb car putting down 1660 rwhp
.

As I'm not a rider, even I noticed this. It seems he had to do that to keep the front tire down. Imagine if he coulda ran it completely through the gears. Although he did look to ring the back end gears out.

bikes are way way faster than street cars....... the only thing that compares are fully built race cars
for $12,000 you can go 9's in the 1/4 at 150+mph
you can go 114mph in 1st gear
you can go 180mph stock
and remember bikes have to baby it off the line, too much throttle and you spin or lift the front up...... so to go 9's in the 1/4 while launching easy is crazy fast...... with an extended swingarm these bikes will hit low 9's easy
when it comes to performance you cant beat $12,000

I'm aware of how fast these bikes are, i just cant believe how hard it pulled the ZR1.
The only 1000cc bikes i have ever ridden were vtwins (TL100r and SV1000) and they pulled like crazy, and this bike is about 50hp more.
when i was 18 my uncle let me ride his SV1000. I punched it at 60, next time i looked down it was 148. And i think i only shifted twice.

yeah, the 1000cc v-twin bikes you were riding perform like a 600cc inline four...... actually quarter mile times the 600cc inline fours are faster
if you thought the v-twin bike was fast..... you should try a 1000cc inline four...... its a whole different world

I dont have one because i know i would get popped going 100mph over the limit, or get killed. My buddy bugs me constantly to get one so i can ride with him, but it just doesnt appeal to me that much.

I've ridden dirtbikes all my life, but the only two road bikes i've ever ridden were 1000cc torque monsters lol.

I used to belong to a R1 forum site and every week someone would get killed.

This is why I sold my 2004 Yamaha R1 and bought this car. I am glad for the experiance and rode the **** out of it for three years. But I am damn lucky to be alive! By far the most dangerous and fastest machine I have ever rode.

But i know with how i ride my dirtbikes, that if i had a streetbike, the speedo would be pegged on a daily basis

Ya nothing like the freedom of off road (no cops)! I use to race ATV's and dirt bikes years ago. The best times of my life!

Oh and depending on car and the rider, i could see 800 whp in the ZR1 taking down a zx10 without much of a problem..

This last week at Monza, Troy Corser successfully put a BMW S1000RR on the podium last weekend in race 2. Here's the story. Great race BTW.

#2 i didnt know the mv agusta beat the zx10..... where and when did this happen??? i hope it did, it only took them until year 2010 to beat a jap bike...... and what mv agusta are we talking about??? the $25,000 model??? I COULD BUY TWO ZX-10'S FOR THAT so i hope it runs with something half its price
#3 im going off of the shootout i posted below, its done with the same riders, at the same airstrip, on the same day in the same weather and i havent seen the new shootouts yet......
also like i said before to hang with a $12,000 zx-10 you will need a built car...... so you saying a 800rwhp corvette could run with it PROVES MY POINT
and guess what.... read the performance chart i posted..... it has a HENNESSEY GT 1000 with 1000hp and the zx10 kills it from 0-180mph..... not bad for $12,000 huh???
my father owns a kawasaki/honda dealership and trust me the cbr1000 doesnt hang with the zx-10...... all the fast street racers buy one of the four bikes a busa, gixxer 1k, zx10, zx14...... those are the hotrods, if you go to bike meets and street races or even go to the dragstrip you will see what the fast guys are racing and betting money on..... all the brothas come in and they ONLY ride kawasaki or suzuki.... they only care about straight line performance, street racing for $ and drag racing for $ go to some street meets and watch what all the fast guys are racing
the cbr is setup better for road course racing and so is the yamaha
dragstrip & street racing = kawasaki & suzuki
road course racing or just a quick street bike = honda & yamaha
also, the bmw and mv agusta are overpriced i can buy 2 bikes for the price of 1 mv agusta
and another thing about bmw and mv agusta is there are very few dealers, i bet you will find 20 honda, kawasaki, suzuki, or yamaha dealers for every one mv agusta or bmw dealer

As a ZX-10 owner myself, the BMW is certainly faster and cleaning house in the comparison tests. It is consistently putting down 20 more hp to the wheel than the next most powerful liter bike, the ZX-10. It also ran 9.57 at 156 for Sport Rider in their liter bike comparison test. I have no desire to replace my ZX-10, but the BMW is definitely an awesome bike.
Oh and regarding the CBR, remove the top-end restriction and it's a whole different ball game. Every bit of a match for the ZX-10 and it gets the lost 7-9 horsepower back with the addition of a $60 accessory that doesn't retard timing on the top. Having owned a new CBR1000 for a few months, it is also an amazing machine. Honestly though, you can't go wrong with any of the new bikes.
