I was wondering how they would run, glad someone did a comparo. There's gonna be a lot of high school girls with some quick cars here before to long.

Good vid, I was just wondering about this. All I know is I'm glad I got my LQ9/cam swap done on the Firebird. Even these little motors aren't playing "little" anymore.

I would want to run my GT into a wall if I could only pull a car length on the new V6. However, props to Ford for making a powerful V6.

How crazy. When was the last time you even thought about buying a v6 'muscle car'? This is impressive. TT V6 anyone? Haha

The V6 was really at a disadvantage at the start and held it's ground nicely the rest of the race. Maybe with some basic bolt-ons it could reel the GT in. The music in the the video...Damn! Is that what all mustang drivers listen too?

I wonder what the distance of that race was. Seems like the little sixxer was creeping back up towards the end. Of course, the 3V 4.6's always did run outta breath up top when stock....something the new 5.0 doesn't seem to have a problem with. I'm just glad I decided to do a blower back in the day.... all these sixxers are starting to get scary.

I wonder if a six speed manual with drag radials could get it done?

Well the 3V 4.6 GT's were what?........13.5 second cars at best? There's already been a couple of mags that have run 13.7-13.8 in the new sixxer. I think a tune alone might put the 3.7 right there. Definitely closer then I thought, since the V6 model is still down considerably on torque. I guess that new six motor really picks it up pretty good. I can only imagine how quick an ecoboost 3.7 powered Mustang would be. I'd bet that it wouldn't be very far behind the 5.0.

If this video is any indicator.......the only 04 V8's that would stand a chance are the 4V cars (the Mach's and Cobras). I don't think a 2V GT would fair very well.
