Default New GM Commercial thanking us tax payers.

All I can say is I am glad they recognize why they are still here. Great commercial and a great way to boost the new GM.

While we'll never see any money, I am glad they at least thought to thank us.

Ok, now that I actually watched the video, I thought it was very tasteful. I love the new style marketing coming out of GM.

To me it's a slap in the face. They're still making over 100% profit on every automobile they sell. It's like saying, "Thanks for giving us your money, there's nothing you could do about it anyway!"

Just the fact that they claimed bankruptcy afterwards leaves a sour taste in my mouth...

Dude in 2008 gm lost about 1200 dollars on every car it sold.. they are making about 3100 per car sold this year.. IDK where you got your 100 percent profit from..

They lost money not because of the profit from cars, but from the debts they owed.

Trust me, it doesn't cost GM $72k to build a C6Z, after all's said and done it probably costs them less than half that...

You have to factor in tooling cost, equipment cost, labor cost, etc etc.. building a car isnt just parts..

That is factored in. I work at a auto plant and know first hand. For example Ford spends 12k total, parts, labor, everything on the Escape and sells a fully loaded Hybrid for 28k.

Your gonna believe a companies statments that took money from you and then claimed bankruptcy so they wouldn't have to pay you back?

how are you going to say gm marks **** up 100 percent and then start throwing around different examples than gm.. ford has nothing to do with this discussion.. GM is having to pay the government(us) back regardless of the Bankruptcy status.... You must not be very familiar with the audit process that goes on at these big companies.. I can tell you that GM profit margins are very small on everything but their trucks.. BTW which auto plant is it that you work at? and what is it you do there

Parts and labor isnt all that goes into making a car. The car must be designed and tested before it ever goes into production. This to is very costly. Also, im sure that all of the machines that are making these cars arent cheap.

I'm just tired of bailouts... If we have to bailout California, There's a lot of militias country wide that are ready...
