Kinda related question... what would it take to get the 6.2 in a Mustang with the new 4V heads?

What is the point in the entire Raptor truck line? It makes very little sense to me even from a performance standpoint??

They are offroad trucks, that happen to have a lot of muscle behind them. Sounds pretty self-explanatory...

impossible unfortunately from what I understand. The 6.2 shares NOTHING in common with any other engine. bore centers, deck height, everything is different. I also read that the 2v heads outflow most other ford heads stock for stock, and can be ported to outflow just about any other OEM ford head, whether 2v, 3v, or 4v.

I find it extremely hard to believe that the SOHC 6.2 heads flow better than the DOHC 5.0 heads.

I don't have stock numbers off hand, but our ported 5.0 4V head flows 330 cfm / 219 cfm @ .600 lift and the 6.2 SOHC flows 343 cfm / 235 cfm.

Fo real? Then what was the point in even making the 5.0 DOHC?

Like they state flow isnt everything. the 4 valve design sure does help with atomization of the fuel.

They never said they were "better" just that their ported 6.2 heads flow better than their ported 4v heads

it obviously has better peak numbers, thats obvious. Like i said, one of the reasons the 5.0 can make good power is because dohc heads can flow tons of air right off the seat. Like i said its not all about peak numbers. I was originally responding to the guy who asked why they made the 5.0 dohc.
