Default Is this an LSX Standing Mile Record? LMR TT Camaro - 239 mph

This has been talked about elsewhere, but another Another video has just been posted...

YT Description:

"239.6mph - The Texas Mile - March 2011
This is the record holder for the fastest Camaro in a standing mile. It was built by Late Model Racecraft in Houston.
The car made this pass with the boost turned down and it had 20" street tires.
Check out the other video where the car made 1800rwhp on the dyno!"

Yes it is the LSX record. I believe the official overall record is 250.1 for a lambo.

I don't think that was at the Texas Mile, heard that was in Florida...could be wrong. Pretty sweet for a car not running at it's full potential! Can't wait to see what it'll do on KILL mode with the proper wheel/tire combo.

Nothing unofficial about it. It just wasn't the Texas mile.

That FGT ran 249.7mph at the Texas mile on 26psi, then they went to Miami and turned it up to 41psi and ran 266mph. Tailwind or whatever, that's what it ran using official timing equipment and a 1 mile track.

^He rolled it out nice and soft through 1st and 2nd for the first half mile. You couldn't even tell he was on it then either because he was so far away. Then it was just like wormy said BAM! 239 mph with out even breaking a sweat.

^ Yeah most cars Ive seen do that run take off a lot faster so that Camaro has I think 260+ mph capable. Why on 20's though? proving a point?

No, it's because they blew the tires on a previous run and destroyed the 18's that were on it. No wheels could be found to match the custom offset so they threw on the other set they had for cruising.
IIRC, LMR didn't even really care to do a run on 20's but did at the customer's request.
So imagine the thing with the right wheels/tires and set on killmode.

Did the rim split before the tire or did the tire let go and split the rim.

i think areo is a huge factor here and they might have been better off building a 3rd gen, but very very cool none the less.

I was with Ray for the mile when he went 249. The timing equipment is no where near up to par for what has been built up at the Texas Mile.

Regardless, his car is fast.

Kelly's Black camaro on the other hand will do some work in Beeville here pretty soon when they get a new set of wheels and tires on it.

Look forward to seeing the car soon and seeing what she does on the track.
