Then there's the aftermarket stuff.
The quickest GT-R runs bottom 9's on race gas. The quickest pump gas C6 is in the 8's...

So how exactly does a corvette stand no chance against a GT-R?
The quickest GT-R traps almost 20mph higher than the quickest pump gas C6. Not to mention that the GT-R is full weight on 18" ET streets and the pump gas C6 has weight reduction and 16" slicks and skinnies.

Agreed, but from the results it looks like something was really wrong with the ZR1 (ie maybe a bad tune?).

We can speculate all day about a modded GTR vs. ZR1 but at the end of the day, the ZR1 holds the fastest production car record at Nürburgring with video proof not speculation

Who cares about traps? What about 60ft. times? Bet the Vette's is better. Also, is there a full weight street legal GTR in the 7's yet? NO

Like I said the trap is better. the 60ft for the GT-R is 2 tenths off of that vette. Only reason for that is the GT-R is not fully dialed in yet. Also the GT-R is on a less agressive wheel and tire setup than that Corvette. And if you are talking about Atomicfusion's Corvette (in regards to the 7 second full weight street legal car) being full weight or street legal that is a stretch.

I'm talking about Mark Carlyle's Z06. I believe he just went 7.75 not too long ago.

Which pump gas C6 are you refering too? No argument here. Just curious which car you are talking about.

There.
As much as I hate to say it, Marks car is pretty far from a "street car" anymore.

Almost one of the worst racing vidoes I have ever seen. The guy in the ZR1 seems like he can't shift for crap and the GTR got a good jump everytime. So much for 3 honks-idiots!
Sounds like the Chase car is a gtr, maybe. At least put the camera in a fast car that can keep up with the ones racing.

It was just an example and I said quickest, not fastest.
The fastest LS corvette trapped over 200...

Either way, it doesn't detract from the fact that the other post was pretty ignorant.

The GTR and C6 are on equal ground.
They each have their own pros and cons.

His name is Atomicfusion on Corvetteforum and yes that car is far from street legal or full weight. Awesome car but those are the facts. DiscerningZ32 is spot on.
