New 4.8L Truck Record: 10.74@126.81
Made these passes last night, running a PTE 76GTS@18psi and dry 50 shot.
True street truck, A/C, full leather interior, towing package, Amps/Subs. 4500+ with driver. 4.8L has Ls6 cam/springs/ARP studs. Stock rods, pistons, heads, intake, throttle body.
Very happy with it and bested the old record of 10.79.

I would think turbo spool would take too long to be useful with towing but I am guessing the extra load spools the turbo quicker.
How is that setup for towing?
I ask because the stock 4.8 aint the best while towing
Aslo why did you end up going with the small shot of nitrous instead of just adding a bit more boost?

Thanks guys.
Sciff I mostly pull the boat off boost, if I need a little ummph I just pull past 3k and it starts building boost pretty quick from there. I decided to spray it instead because i'm still running ls6 valve springs. With their light seat pressure i'm sure im lifting the valves. I figured maybe a little cold air would be better direction for just a little extra. I have springs to swap, but like Chris said earlier, it's been so damn hot here in the south.

That looks like a pretty big boat to haul around with a 4.8 out of boost does it feel pretty much like a stock 4.8 till about that 3k mark?
Did you have to tune the car more coservatively so that it doesnt detonate under boost while towing. I am guessing the extra load would create higher chance of detonation... but maybe it doesnt effect it much.

Do it! =)
As for the tune, I run e85, so I actually added around 4-5 degree's timing on the out of boost area (2700-2800) and below. This helps a lot, and the small ls6 cam adds a little I believe over the baby stock cam. The 3200 circle d seems to keep the rpms in tq area as well, over all I'm happy with it for what it is..
