Default Updated photos of the Chevelle

I hadn't taken any pictures since I painted the headlight buckets black (looks much meaner than all chrome). I have also installed Cobalt SS black leather bucket seats with SS embroidered on them and stock LS1 fbody rear disc brakes to replace my drums. This is right after the fresh rubber went on the rear.

In the very near future I will be replacing the grill emblem and side emblems with Trailblazer SS badges to add a touch of modern style to match the LS1 under the hood and they will be the same font as the Cobalt SS seats.

She's not perfect, but I have a lot of fun with her.

Front:
Jeep Grand Cherokee steering box (quick ratio and firms up feel, makes car drive more modern)
Afco "stock" style circle track shocks, medium rate (pretty damn stiff compared to off the shelf replacement stuff)
750# rate circle track springs with screw style height adjusters (so front can be raised and lowered similar to coilovers)
stock SS sway bar
stock SS disc brakes w/ceramic pads (have Hawks HPS to go on shortly)

Rear:
Hotchkis springs (bought before I knew better) on height plates
KYB Gas-a-just shocks
Adjustable upper control arms
SS boxed lower control arms
stock SS sway bar
Lakewood bolt on traction bars (cures wheel hop, not sure if I still "need" them)
LS1 fbody rear discs

The ride is a lot stiffer than a factory muscle car from the 70s, but not harsh. Feels like a new sports car. Body roll is almost non-existent. Weight transfer is limited though which hurts drag launches.

It surprises a lot of people because they see the car and stance and expect a sloppy drag car. It will hang with a lot of 80s-90s sports cars in the turns, has been around several autox courses, and rides much more like a new car than a 70s body roll fest.

With all the added modern touches; a newer style set of rims would be a nice addition.

I think a nice shot of nitrous and some skinnies would be a good addition. Beautiful car

They aren't perfect, because we aren't loaded with cash. We do well with what we have to work with and get lots of thumbs-up in the process. It’s funny to see the primered cars getting as much or more attention than the shiny ones.

One day...

I can't find anything I like that I can afford currently.

I have yet to find a single wheel I like in the sizes I would want for under $400 each.

Been spending money on other things

Not anything recent. It's all stock black vinyl except the seats and it has kickpanel molded speaker housings with Eclipse 6". Eclipse 6x9s in the rear deck and a single MTX 12" in the trunk...I like my tunes

Oh and cracked dash mod from where some POS ****** tried to steal my CD player when the car was parked outside work one day. Jimmied the lock open and put 3 dime-nickle sized holes from a screwdriver around it.

I got to the car within 15 minutes of when it had to have happened.

I don't have even a grand to blow on wheels right now. And I won't put anything narrower than a 10" wide wheel on the rear of the car under any circumstances.

So far the best pass was a 12.24@110.39 in 1840ft DA. Going to do some tweaks to front suspension, air ducting, and the tune. Hopefully in the cool autumn air and dropping a little off the 60ft I can find an 11 sec pass.

I'd keep the wheels you've got.. Period correct and they look right on there
