I bought an SLP catback for my 2000 camaro back when it was stock. The catback came loose when I was driving one day so I pulled it all off in a parking lot and tossed it in the back, and left it with a stock open Y pipe for a few months. I actually liked the sound, with the stock manifolds and catted Y pipe it wasn't loud, but had a nice sound to do. I left it it that way until I did my cam swap, in which I then added 1-3/4 longtubes and a ORY pipe, with a cutout at the end of the Y pipe going back to a Magnaflow catback. Needless to say, the cutout was open 99.9% of the time, a MS4 with an open Y pipe sounded nasty. Only times I ever closed it up was if I was coming home late at night, to not **** off the neighbors.
