Agreed. Only way this isn't true is if someone pulled out right in front of you. Driving too close means you are taking the risk of rear-ending someone, rather than playing it safe, so it's YOUR fault if you rear-end them. I can understand bitching about this happening AND saying everyone does it, but it is YOUR fault it happened, not the guy in front of you. How would you feel if he was right up your *** and something jumped out in front of you forcing you to nail the brakes and him to rear-end you?

Went to the body shop and took more pictures. Also the body shop and the insurance company said that most likely its totaled because of the age of the car and the fact that they would be using OEM parts. The hood alone is $1600 new but the body shop said that they are going to pull it in to the shop and give me a call when they come up with something and Statefarm is sending someone out in 4-5 days so the wait begins.

Its probably totaled, I had similar damage to my car(both broken fenders, hood, bumper and frame damage) and they totaled it. Buy it back and fix it yourself it isn't too hard to find someone parting out a car.

Way to be a dick. They say to keep back 1 car length for every 10mph...who do you really know that actually does that? Thats right, not a ******* soul. Becasue if you are back 7 car lengths on the interstate in traffic 6 cars are going to get in beween you and the car you were 7 car lengths away from. I bet most people on here are guilty of following to closely and almost rear ending someone at some point or another, I know I am.

That's kind of what I thought. Insurance doesn't do it the way most people would do it on their own. No LS1Tech classifieds or Craigslist. All book value on parts. It's usually what to total a vehicle, 70% of a car's value, 75%? With a 6 speed you would make good money parting it out. It just depends on how much work you want to do. You'd have a good start on a LS1/T56 something.

OP, glad to hear no one got hurt. You have full coverage insurance through a reputable company though, so hopefully they will take care of you regardless of what is decided. Bad **** happens to good people sometimes...........and don't pay any attention to the Mustwang drivers......

I had a similar accident a few months back where I hit the back of a trailblazer in my 99 TA with a ram air hood. They surprisingly didn't total it and gave me a check for 5k to fix it! hope it all works out,
