haaaa stupid excuses..... Cheated on the start? really? In a mile the vehicle with the best combination of gearing, power, and aerodynamics wins plain and simple

He might've cheated at the start, but with 50-100hp more (I can't remember what all years of GTR's had what power) and a lot less weight, he had to know he was gonna start getting walked at around the half mile point.

Also that GTR looks boring as **** to do a flat out mile. It looked like a sunday afternoon cruise down the highway...at least use the damn paddle shifters. I still like them though.

This was our local event this last summer. I do respect GTRs and the numbers, but it will always be a video game car to me...that and they are too big IMO.

ZR1 FTW

What made the GTR guy decide that takin 2 friends with him was a good idea? I know power is more important then weight at those speeds but I cant imagine at least 400 more lbs is helping.
If he knows how to drive the GTR then a cheating ZR1 off the line should still be in his dust for the first bit. A good launch on the vette still pales in comparison to the GTR takin off.
Oh well

Drivers were required to take an instructor for those runs - ZR1 had a passenger as well.

As for launch -what are the best 60ft for both cars? While we all know the GTR is more consistent with launch mode etc...for comparison sake, take the best 60fts and compare.

Here is what I found:

ZR1: 1.52 60ft on route to a 10.26@135mph (Stock ZR1)
GTR: 1.48 60ft on route to a 10.34 (Modified GTR)

This is just a quick search, I am sure there is better results out there.

Guy in the GTR got his feelings hurt cause he spent all that money on that car thinking it would be king of any track including a mile long track and got beat by a ZR1 Corvette, end of story.

Yeah, I assume that's on DR's considering the fastest Z06's hit high 10's on DR's...makes sense. It's an apples to oranges comparison anyways.

Heavier and less power through all four wheels and automatic

V.S.

Lighter with more power through two less wheels and manual

GTR takes the hit and starts getting walked from 1/2 mile through the full mile. ****'s not rocket science.
