Default Pics of newly bought T/A

Well i guess after owning 3 Camaro's and still wanting an F-body, a T/A was in order. Picked this car up the other day. 1999 T/A 36k miles, 1 owner, no accidents. Has a small crack in rear bumper, can't even see it in the pic. Few scratches here and there. Owned by an older short lady (had a piece of styrofoam taped to clutch pedal so she could reach it,lol) It's a little dirty, it's how the dealership gave it to me. Guess they need to pay their detailing man a little better. I'll update this thread with better pictures when i get a chance to clean her.

I noticed that every time i start the car the gauges sweep all the way to the max and then my trip odometer resets. From what i've read 1999's had this problem and replacing the battery fixes it. I've also noticed the volume button on the stock headunit doesn't work very well. Everything else works, it rides like it's new. Bone stock, not a single thing done to it.

I plan to install a cut out, change the shifter **** to a Hurst, SLP lid and i already ordered a skip shift eliminator from WS6store. Probably won't touch much else for now.

I really don't mind the shifter size.....just wish the **** was different. I'm starting to wonder if that hurst shifter would look weird on there since it's black and my leather is grayish.

What you guys recommend i do with the shifter? It would be purely for cosmetic purposes as i don't plan on "power shifting" haha. Is there an easy way i could just shorten the height of that shifter so it doesn't come up as much? Then throw a hurst **** on it?

Eh, figured there might be some "free mod" to adjust the height somehow. Don't care about the throw distance really. Not racing this car.

Thanks. I can't wait to get a few things done to it. I can imagine myself keeping this one for awhile.

Question regarding the shifter (it's really bothering me)

Does anyone still make a "short stick" shifter i could swap in just so it's not so tall? I think the combination of that and a hurst **** would make me happy. I really don't want to drop the 200$ on replacing the whole shifter. I can't find the ws6store stick i keep reading about, only the UMI one but apparently that one doesn't work on non hurst shifters. Input?

Edit: Nevermind. http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/...6-short-stick/

cheap mods, if it were mine which it isnt. Clear corners for it , delete the body side moldings , new tips and some blackbird stripes , i think they make them for the flat hood , or some rear pontiac inlay stickers. Rims would be sweet but thats down the road. The factory 17s really change the look .

Purchased: SLP lid, hurst shift ****, QTP 3" stainless cutout, short stick shifter from WS6 store, and skip shift eliminator from Ws6 store. Can't wait for the stuff to start rolling in.

I'll more than likely keep the appearance mostly stock besides maybe adding some stainless Pontiac inserts in the rear and getting rid of dealer sticker. TSP stainless headers/true dual exhaust down the road at some point.

Anyways, i love these threads too. I made another with the exact same title a few years back except with "Z" instead of "T/A"
