Ive been saying those fr500s would look sick on a camaro for years, check the photoshop thread, ive asked for someone to ps it just no ttakers, honest bud i would just build that car, forged bottom end lots of boost etc,or just be on the hunt for a 03 cobra drivetrain, mustangs are just pricey to build and ya dont get much out of them, but boost is the only way you will make that thing somewhat quick, your not going to get alot of love on this site, but i think its a clean car to do something cool with, the easiest way n cheapest way to make that thing run would be a ls swap,i mean how much do 03 cobra drivetrains go for these days, back in the day when i was looking they were 7 to 9 grand?and there is a very few cobras running low 12s with bolt ons n cams,i say build it,but i love the style of those cars
I know track numbers aren't everything, but they're a pretty good indication of what should happen on the street, and bottom line is 8.50 @ 87 is stock/very lightly modded LS1 territory.
Just don't everyone get your panties in a wad. I still admit I have nothing on an equally modded LS1 or even the fastest stock LS1. I'm a car guy through and through; if it's clean and quick it's alright in my book, I just happen to like the way a Mustang looks and sounds better than LS1's (although WS6's look wicked).

My first time at the track i pulled an 8.8 in the 1/8th and a 13.4 in the 1/4. That was bogging off the line like a ****... (really about the 4th time down the track ever). That was with intake and exhaust though.
Anyway. not to hijack the thread. Clean car sir

Thank you sir! My ideal LS1 is a 2002 SS, NBM with ebony leather interior and a automatic trans. The traction control switch, Monsoon sound system, and t-tops too.

From what i was told the 03 cobra drivetrains have came down a lil,i know when i looked they were 8to9grand,now i heard 6 to 7 and some cheaper that, that shouldnt be a extensive swap, i think a 03swap on a sn95 would be killer, that is one car i really wanna build,im actually looking for a clean gt now

I would say it's actually pretty uncommon for and LS1 to go low 12's cammed with full bolt ons. Unless you're just a horrible driver. With a sticky tire you can have an auto in the low 12's with just the bolt ons and a converter. M6 you do it with a decent driver, full bolt ons and the sticky tire. Anything besides as baby cam should have you in the 11's.

lol. don't let us get you down though. still a clean cobra, and to each his own. a lot of us with fbodies would get the same **** from the vette guys, or whatever. I love my car for what it is, not because its the fastest, nicest thing out there.

I'm sure once it gets running again and my extras get here and installed I'll love it that much more and it'll be that much faster.

Ha. I was just trying to get a rise out of ppl the whole time.. In my opinion a Mustang is a better Bolton beater..
I just personally wouldn't spend $5-$10k in the motor on one by no means though. I say do H/C/150shot. And go beat up on some Cam-only fbodies... Maybe... Lol

I just wanted to go back to Mustang's since a Mustang was my first car. So naturally finding this Cobra and it being my favorite body style I just had to jump on it. I just love the way Mustang's look and sound over LS1's, but that's my opinion. They're pros and cons to both.
In the meantime I'm saving up for another LS1. I'd love to have both!

Thanks for all the compliments guys, I truly didn't think my car would be well accepted around here. And since I do plan to come back to an LS1 in the next year or two, this car won't be getting anything more than basic bolt-ons and maybe a nitrous kit.
But the bottom line is, at 8.5 @ 87mph, I've got a stock LS1 and some lightly modded ones covered lol. It ran a best of 8.4 @ 89mph, in 77 degree weather no less, so with a stickier tire it for sure has really low 8's in it (maybe really high 7's).
I just can't wait to get my speedometer corrected lol!

Clean looking car and it looks like someone took good care of it.
