IMO all the cosmetic exterior changes for this "update" were a step down.
Those "cosmetic changes", are all functional. Definitely an upgrade from the '10-'13 SS, larger front grille opening for improved cooling and the vented hood also cools and decreases front end lift and high speeds.

the only reason im inclined to not agree about the cosmetic changes is because GM isnt applying them to their top of the line ZL1 camaro. the only new change to the ZL1 is the tail lights

I like how much thinner the car looks.

The hood looks tacky as **** though. It really looks like a ricer afterthought. The vent is too small in proportion to the size of the hood and it looks especially bad on cars with stripes.

vent reminds me of those side vents you see on every SUV/caddy/buick/crap car now...

btw vents add 5hp, and if its on the hood thats an easy 10hp

I saw one of these in person today at my local dealer, what's the deal with that chrome strip that wraps around the top of the grille above the headlights and what not? That looks very bad, completely ruins the front end on the car. The '10-'13's are better looking and most I see aren't great looking.

I like it...it is different enough for me to appreciate it. I'm sure people have said the same thing when GM changed the 4th gen front and rear.

That chrome strip above the headlights and grille is terrible. If I had a choice I would honestly take a 2014 Mustang over this. The '10-'13 Camaro models are bearable with some cosmetic changes, like a duck tail spoiler, lowering, wheels, grille, etc...

I saw this car at Hot August nights in Reno a few weeks ago and if I remember correctly the hood vent is actually sealed off and is for cosmetics only... Like others have mentioned, it is too small in proportion with the rest of the hood, looks stupid with stripes, and just isn't necessary.

Well at least the new Corvette looks great! IMO

The side vents that Buick and Caddy use are strictly for looks, the hood vent used by the Camaros actually allow heat to escape from under the hood and decrease front end lift. I am glad GM is starting to use functional vents rather than just using it as a styling cue as they have done in the past. Well to each his own, some are intelligent enough to understand functional design - others not so much.

Just doesn't do it for me yet. Tail lights.....Yuck. I want a whole redesigned car not another knock off of the last body style.

never said this wasnt functional, i just said it reminds me of those vents. the hp comment was referring to the cosmetically enhanced vents for cars. but hey some people are intelligent enough to understand the english language

I can't believe GM made this and the C7.

Someone needs to be fired.

the c7 is nice. only thing that'll take some getting used to for me is the black portion on the rear of the car. but lowered + sitting on some nice wheels, they look nice. HRE has some photoshops out there with their wheels on...
