I have to disagree. I had the misfortune of seeing one in person last Friday night at a car show, and it actually made me better appreciate the '10-'13 styling...and I don't even really care for those either.
IMO all the cosmetic exterior changes for this "update" were a step down.

the only reason im inclined to not agree about the cosmetic changes is because GM isnt applying them to their top of the line ZL1 camaro. the only new change to the ZL1 is the tail lights

I saw one of these in person today at my local dealer, what's the deal with that chrome strip that wraps around the top of the grille above the headlights and what not? That looks very bad, completely ruins the front end on the car. The '10-'13's are better looking and most I see aren't great looking.

That chrome strip above the headlights and grille is terrible. If I had a choice I would honestly take a 2014 Mustang over this. The '10-'13 Camaro models are bearable with some cosmetic changes, like a duck tail spoiler, lowering, wheels, grille, etc...
I saw this car at Hot August nights in Reno a few weeks ago and if I remember correctly the hood vent is actually sealed off and is for cosmetics only... Like others have mentioned, it is too small in proportion with the rest of the hood, looks stupid with stripes, and just isn't necessary.
Well at least the new Corvette looks great! IMO

The side vents that Buick and Caddy use are strictly for looks, the hood vent used by the Camaros actually allow heat to escape from under the hood and decrease front end lift. I am glad GM is starting to use functional vents rather than just using it as a styling cue as they have done in the past. Well to each his own, some are intelligent enough to understand functional design - others not so much.
