Turbo Firebird Formula Runs 7s, Makes 1700hp And Wheelies To Half-Track Turbo Firebird Formula Runs 7s, Makes 1700hp And Wheelies To Half-Track
A big-power 4th Gen. F-Body still brings a smile to my face, especially if the car in question is a 1700hp Firebird Formula that's pulling the wheels through half track and running 7.60s @ 186 mph when it keeps the front-end down. Despite a hefty race weight of 3650 pounds with the driver, the 425 cubic inch LS motor with twin PT7675 cast turbos set at 37psi, an air-to-water intercooler and a Powerglide transmission add up to 8.09 @ 183 on the back wheels and mid 7s when the front doesn't start flying.

Thats Steve Smiths bird. This car is no joke people. The car actually ran a 7.52 on the same day these vids were taken!!!

Steve isn't banned because he doesn't post. I'm the one that does all the write-ups on our cars. I'm also not banned. Just permanently restricted because I helped a friend liquidate a bunch of used take-off LSx parts thru the classifieds to the benefit of everyone without being a vendor. Funny thing is that almost all the stuff sold went to paying sponsors/vendors. All the free content that I contributed to the site over the years and never having been banned once in all that time carried ZERO weight in CRAGARS decision.

I wasn't aware that you guys were on 'Restricted Access'. How terrible. You shared SO much knowledge that would have usually required paying a vendor for. How terrible. I wish you the best of luck, I LOVED watching you run a 8.98! SICK!
