Default FlowMaster 40 series True Duals 02 Trans Am

Picked up another Trans Am recently, car has full bolt ons, 231/235 cam and Fti 3800 stall. First order of business was to redo the exhaust, it wasnt terrible but wasnt great either, sound just wasnt what I was looking for. So here is what i ended up with, Tsp 1-7/8 Longtubes, X Pipe, and FlowMaster Original 40 Series with TailPipes under the axle. Sounds amazing in person, video doesnt really capture how it sounds. It tucks up better than y pipes setups i have had on other cars, plenty of clearance. Since the pics I have painted all the pipes gloss black so all that is visible from the back is the tips.

I like the setup so much im going to be doing the same thing on my other Trans Am except I will use a H Pipe instead of the X.

sounds great.... how low do they hang ? i'd be a bit worried about the clearance and my car is not lowered

They tuck up very well, i have had better luck clearance wise with true dual set ups than any y pipe set up so far. It tucks higher than my camaro did with dynatech longtubes, y pipe and corsa catback. When i put the 28 inch tire on it will only get better to.

Old setup was longtubes and x pipe with single chambers next to the gas tank under the bumper.

I have basically the same exhaust but with Thursh Welded mufflers and without tailpipes. Love the sound but some serious drone at idle and under 1500 rpm.
Heres a video. No choppy cam like yours though. Yours sounds amazing.

If you were to add tail pipes it would sound a million times better, ur almost there just gotta extend the pipe to the bumper. Sounds good none the less.

Sounds wicked. Off topic, how do you like your Speed Engineering headers? I always install pacesetters or BBKs on F bodies, but was thinking about trying the Speed ones this time..hard to beat that price..

Speed engineering longtubes are awesome for the money, i have had pacesetters and dynatechs in the past. Just installed a 1-7/8 set on my buddys 02 SS last week, only gripe with them is when keeping the stock style exhaust the Y pipe needed some extra work to fit perfect, little cutting and banging. We had used a tsp y pipe btw since speed engineering's y pipe is out of stock right now. Since i ran duals it didnt matter on my car but that was my only issue with them.
