that's how turbo > blower top end. plus less weight > more weight
however sad that turbo 4 cyl outrunning blown 8 cyl..but w/e mustang isn't the best v8..

 

Aren't the EVOs AWD? If they worked as much on the suspension as the rest of the motor...a race from a dig, may have the same outcome.

 

the EVO is definetly badass, dont get your hopes up on seeing the EVO run from a dig... it would never happen... not possible he would demolish the tranny.. AWD600hp, no way as soon as he dumped it... bye bye mr. tranny. my boi patricks GSX is pushing 530awhp and he dropped at tranny from running a cobra from a dig.... il post a vid soon of my bois GSX and my friend scotts 600whp 96 mystic SVT running.. from a roll of course

 

i work at the shop where this evo was built. we have gone low 10's on a BONE STOCK tranny, transfer case, rear end and axels with all four wheels wrapped in hoosier quick time pros. the dsm drivetrain in your buddies gsx is much weaker than that of the evo's. these evos pretty incredible. 2 weeks ago we had a customer go 10.90 on the stock turbo!!! i know this is probably the wrong forum to be posting on but im here because i love ls1's! and if you haven't had a chance to drive an evo... do it its a great ride and i think most would be very impressed.

no $hit? i thought this was John Shepherds Evo VIII....I know his website is shepracing.com, i had my trans biult through him, but when i saw SRvidz, i heard somewhere that was Shepracing Vidz...reason i kinda believed it was shep is because last time i spoke with him about building my motor, he said he went with the GT35r kit in his Evo...and all he wanted was a mid-low 11sec street car...he also mentioned doing a 2.3S kit...oh well...i agree withyou on the tranny, i heard they can support around 600hp...that is very impressive, and my .02, if he's pulling those cobras that hard from a roll, a run from a dig would just humiliate the owners of those 2 cobras...
