This video wasnt posted any of the tech sections of this site, it was posted in multimedia. where all pictures and videos that are work safe are permitted.whether its a suburban with a 50mm cannon, or a scion tc running consistent 12's. if you only came to ls1tech to see and discuss only ls1 powered cars stay in the tech section.

He was probably refering to Japanese cars, in which no Japanese car runs 12s from the factory.
The NSX-R runs low 13s BTW.
And most on your list average 13 seconds, like many Porsches, Ferraris, MBs, Maseratis, the only XJ jag that can break 13s is the XJ220, Dinan is a tuner, and does NOT make the M5.

Man im tryin to think of a jap car that does get 12's stock with out tricks. Is there any? The supra is close but i dont think that they were 12's. If there is any please remind me im drawin a blank!!!

Say what you want, there is nothing like a V8!! Yes you have good times, but we on this site really don`t like cars like that. That`s why the name is LS1 tech. You know coming on this site you where going to get it alittle heat. It`s just all in fun!

SLP doesnt make the WS6, they make the Firehawk.
And yes, both would be considered stock being that it was an option from GM (and SLP actually built all F-bodies from 1996 on).

None do, the NSX is the closest though.

The "287hp gentlemens agreement" was probably the biggest factor keeping cars from running any faster.

A fast car is a fast car, no matter the wheels it turns or the size of the engine.

I'm a muscle car guy, always will be. There is nothing better in the world than the tire frying torque of a big cube V8. But to sit here and bitch and moan about a car that is clean, looks stock and runs bottom 12s is rediculous.

I know I drive a "ricer" and I make fun of myself for it, I still don't really like imports or the whole sport compact scene...Ironic I drive one, but its a good car until I'm done with school thats still fun to drive (albeit slow).

All I'm saying is, why is it so hard to give respect where respect is due?

If you all want this forum to be LS1 cars/trucks ONLY, then all the other crap will have to go as well. This means all your funny vids, gun vids, girl vids, everything.

I have nothing wrong with the Scion. I'm actually considering one for a daily driver. Car enthusiasts shouldn't hate on each other based on what cars they drive. Some people, dare I say it, may LIKE the looks of the Scion and not the fbody! For shame someone buys what the LIKE, and mod it from there. Just because they don't fall into your cookie cutter, "I want a fast car, it HAS to be an American V8" mindset, doesn't make them any less of a person.

Now, keep the flames out of here, like the forum rules state.

All of these cars are capable of low 13's maybe high 12's with drags:

Evo
Sti
Gen 3 mr2 turbo
Nsx
Supra
etc.

A performance car is defined by more that just straight line speed. Anyone of those cars listed above, would hand any stock ls1 there *** on a track and maybe 1/4 to.

Porsche Boxter S, S2000, BMW M Roadster, and MB SLK320 all get their asses handed to them on a silver platter...

(oh yeah, and a stock C5, which has an LS1, would run circles around the cars you listed)
BTW the MR2 Turbo will run mid 14s on a good day, not low 13s.

A gen 3 mr2 turbo will run mid to low 13's, matter of fact, there faster than supras stock. Do a search on 96-99 mr2's. I will post up vid of a stock supra vs stock mr2.

I agree with that is not the route most of us would have gone, but taking a 15-16 second car to 12's took some work and that deserves some respect. I dont see giant wings, no body kits or oversized amps and 25 speakers that adds 50 – 100 pounds or more weight to the car, no flashing neon lights... so that car to me is not rice. Rice to me would be taking a 15 -16 second car and making it go 14’s and have all of the above listed items and more. Running 12’s is not fast as it used to be, more of a standard it seems now in the domestic rear wheel drive side of things but is still impressive for the majority of import front wheel side of things.

Again, not the car I would have gone to or with, but over all it looks like a nice running car. But may be close to its limits. Good luck with it.
