I'll bet the weight is still holing him back with those #s. Remember I'm weighing 200lbs less to run mid-high 12s. I'm guessing, but not sure. It also could be the turbo spooling to much as well. I'll bet my turbo helps me alot better in the 1/4 in comparison. Once you slap a big turbo on, 1/4 is difficult to run unless you pick the right one. Normally you get top end or 1/4 power, there's no real mid pack turbo.

It doesn't have a big single. It has two hybrid units on it. His car has ***** from a stop and a roll.

there's a couple of other factors u have to consider as well. ur buddies STi as he stated is lighter..plus STi's have much shorter gearing as well. at 280awhp ur buddy has a low 12 in that car as it sits.

Not really sure about your question, but many members on here have seen my photography work and I just wanted to show off my new shots and a friends very respectable car. The owner of the car is very passive and humble actually.

He has a 3.0 v6 powering 2 15g turbo's at only 16psi, so he has no problems with spool. I've ridden in the car, and there is no lag from a stop. He weighs in at 3500lbs and has 385whp.

We come on here to make you guys ask rediculous questions like that. I don't think anyone was trying to impress people. Just showing off a nice car, is that so bad?

white- I know what your saying. The geraing makes a huge difference. I feel like I'm rowing for dear life in my car. I'd love to see that thing in person. Running two 15g spool definatly isn't the problem. I was assuming he was on something like a 20g or 49SZ.

Glad you made it over Jay. Good crowd for the most part, but you'll find a few that can't stand anything other than F-bodies.

First off I said it is a nice car. I also think the photo's are quality.I just don't see posting it on an f-body forum.I'm not a hater i would feel the same if someone posted an f-body on an import forum.Just my opinion.

I guess it is just YOUR opinion because no one else seems to mind.

cool car. maybe you can tell us in person why the hood isnt painted? i myself own one of thoes things and culdnt stand having the hood in a different color.

about 1/4 mile performace. these cars are easy to get to low 13's/high 12's but after that it cost huge ammounts of money to get it faster.

the impreza has other gears than the VR4 and ist lighter. the gearing is totaly different. the vr4 is doing 178kph in 3 gear while the impreza gets about 142in 3rd

He could always swap in a 6 speed tranny if he wanted closer gearing. That car is faster than high, I've seen it first hand against my buddies 4.10 SS.

Nevermind, according to his shift **** he already has a 6th gear.

I asked him if there was anything he could to do get shorter gearing out of it. He basically said that he would need a JDM MR rear end, and a USDM 1st Gen transfer case or something or the other. Basically it was alot of **** for a marginal increase in gearing.

Yeah, I did a little research and apparently it drops the gearing from a 3.87:1 to a 4.15:1. Not a bad little mod but I guess the gears are really hard to come across. Whatever, Jay's car is still pretty damn fast.

there is no differance if i remember correcly beetween a 5 gear and a 6 gear getrag transmission.the 6 gear tranny was added when the 2 gen came and was just one extra gear to keep the MPG up cus thoes cars use more gas than an full size SUV.

You might be right but from what I've read there are gearing differences in both the rearends and transfer cases used in the USDM 3000GT's and those used in the JDM 3000GT's(GTO MR).
