you could go low 9's for 9K if the car weighs like 2100lbs..... get a POS junkyard car, strip it to nothing, with a sheetmetal seat, build a junkyard stroker motor using crap parts.... make a few bansai passes on a nice shot of juice until it explodes.... you'll be the biggest clown at the track. what fun...

but unless you know how to weld and fabricate you ain't gonna run 9's in any car worth a **** and not get lauged at...

wrong, we did 9.17 @ 154 mph with a clutch'ed 4 speed and a 3300 lb car.

WITH an LS6 BLOCK AND LS6 Heads!

sorry charlie, Matt's car is nice but not the fastest

LOL such pointless arguments... Honestly who cares..How many people in this thread are running 9s? Not many... now of those who are who's doing it NA? I bought my formula with a rebuilt title for dirt cheap. Then got an awesome deal on a fully forged 383. I home ported the stock heads. Bought a street twin, a 9 inch and a used dennys ds. I had a tnt f1 kit. If the car had a th400 instead of the 6 speed it would have been easy a low 10 sec car for around 11k total investment and it was good on the street too when I wasn't blowing up OPTIS lol. Honestly now that ls1 cars are so cheap you can't go wrong either way. We are all on this forum for one thing, INFORMATION ON HOW TO GO FASTER. Just respect a fast car when you see one. It's not about the motor only it's the combination of parts and tuning and experience and of course money that makes it fast.. I loved my LT1 but once I got it running perfect it was complete and I parted it out to do a new project. The car above is awesome hands down I'm sure we all agree on that.

You better beat em' down with that 396 of yours. But I know stock CI LS1's that will give you a run for your money, and we don't even want to get into the ones that have added cubes. None of that was meant to offend anyone, just like what you said about LS1's wasn't meant to be offensive.
