STI - Plus there's gonna be a limited edition this year with leather, power roof and it comes with just a lip spoiler instead of that top-fuel wing. Would be the car I'd be buying it I had $30-odd K lying around

sti dude! my friend who WAS an fbodyer had to sell his 95 supercharged z because he moved to dc, then broke down again and got a ws6, but that sucked in the snow obvioulsy. He ended up with an EVO, and it was a piece of ****!

i vote for the STI, i own a mitsubishi and it breaks all the time, granted it's not an evo, but it still makes me not ever want a mitsubishi again... plus in my opinion the STI looks better

I used to be a huge advocate for the Evo but they seem to have no problem being second seed to the STI. Its better in every performance way it appears. But i do like the look fo the Evo better. The STI does sounds alot cooler though. GL man

neither, but if insist. Here's a small but useful hand:

STI: Sounds better with TB, and CAI, don't like the one style interior, and seem to be a bit more expensive.

EVO: Go with the new evo9, more power then the 8. Looks better than sti, and easier to get a good deal on. (at least in cali)

FYI: just get an ls1 and beat the **** out of them both

I would take the MR or the 9, not the 8 though. The car really needs a 6-spd gearbox.

there is a reason why there are "9" generations of the same car, because the car is damn near perfect same engine and all for the last decade. IMO I would drive them both and then decide, I dont care for the seating postion in the STi, feels like your sitting on top ofthe car.

Think about it this way...
If you are going modded: EVO why? because they aftermarket following for the platform and engine is huge. you will not have a problem finding the right parts to make it fast, look good and and handle like a ****!

If you are staying close to stock: STI why? the engine and tranny are fairly new and the following is not as large, parts are also somewhat more expensive. Also the interior fells higher quality, and the ride is a bit more docile.

I love the way the STI Boxer sounds when modded, but i'd have to go EVO on this one. The EVO is always the top dog when put into direct competition.
