I'm sure marko's car can go a BIT <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> faster than those 9.50's....the car has way more potential then that, and I'm sure if that mustang did hook up, it would of lost anyways..

He raced the titan motorsports car too, and it broke, but Marko would of won that too, looked like he was easily going to out 60ft him..

Props to the boys from Chi-town. Next time you plan on coming to town looking for street action, let us know so some really fast cars can come play with you...

The one thing I will say is that in the unedited Video you can hear that the Mustang jumps first, and that until he lifts he is close enough to clearly hear his car (but from the video I don't know if he is beside you, right behind you, or whatever)... But, your outside video is way tooo far down to make a comparison. They had lifted long before this point, you can see this from the in car video also.

Anyway, good race...

J-Rod. I don't think Marco and his buddies were down there LOOKING to street race. From what I read back on our Chitown board, the Stang came to the hotel lookin for races, so Marco agreed.
I imagine it was pretty damn close until the Stang shut it down. I believe they later said it was leaking coolant/oil all over the place.

I'm in no way a 'Supra guy' (I'm an LS1 guy like the rest of you) but Mike, the thing you dont understand is Marco's car isn't setup to be an all out DRAG CAR. It's got full leather interior, full sound system, A/C, all power accessories, and up until the big cage was put in it (BTW, looks like Adam did a good job on it), the interior looked BONE STOCK. He was also running on his 17" stock wheels with NITTOS.
When the car is on slicks/skinnies, boost cranked and nitrous on, sadly, there probably isn't an LS1 car on this SITE that would beat it....

The mustang did pop a head gasket. Mustang is a high 9 sec car on gas, didn't have a chance either way...

JF. I know how fast the LS1 cars go. I'm an LS1 guy myself. Maybe this summer, things will be different (I Hope), but I don't think even ARE's car would catch Marco when he's at his best...

I hear that Marko has run 9.58 this year in the Supra, let's give anyone who runs 9.5's major props. I have known him for a while and the car is impressive, when it was a flat 10 second car it was total sleeper...

But Wade and the crew have gone ~8.92@154mph and they expect to be in the mid 8's by the end of this year... I'm sure that Marco will run even faster but I doubt he will have a Toyota transmission in the car by the end of the year, and I wonder if the IRS can go mid 8's safely and consistently...

It really amazes me how many uninformed and naive LS1 owners are on this site...

So far, I have seen things posted in reference to Marko beating a broken Mustang, Marko not coming close to beating Titan, and the usual "rice" usage. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" /> What a bunch of close-minded buffoons. If it was a Camaro and not a Supra, everyone would be giving Marko props.

a) The Mustang owner was on a boot, and wanted to run ANY one of our Supras for $2500. He folded, and agreed to race Marko on drag radials for $100. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" /> I believe the Mustang owner let Marko run from 20mph due to the fact he was on radials. Mustang owner's suggestion, BTW. Good thing he folded, as $2500 is a lot to pay someone because you broke...

b) Marko has a new fuel management/turbo/injector combo, and has not had an opportunity in snowy IL to test the new setup. We were tuning it in the staging lanes. First pass just to qualify was a 10.9X ET on drag radials--better than most cars on this site do in their best tune...

c) The 9.58 ET run was made at moderate boost levels, and a soft 1.55 60'. The converter wasn't locked until the top of 3rd gear, when it is usually engaged in 2nd. In spite of all this, Marko lost to the Viper by .005 seconds. Yeah, he got slaughtered...

d) There is a LOT more in Marko's car, and the season has just begun. Considering his car runs 100% stock suspension, stock IRS diff, a/c and stereo, and full weight, the car runs very well. Any 9-second car that can be driven daily in traffic and burn through twisties on the same suspension should get props. Of course, he could run 8's and he wouldn't get props from many close-minded LS1 owners.

e) Watch all of StangStomper's videos and see Marko holeshot the big-block Vipers on spray. "Supras are only fast from a roll." <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

What kind of car is this that ran low 8's with 800rwhp? Do you mean low 9's. 800rwhp is ALOT of power, but unless the car is a paperweight 800rwhp wont get you low 8's. Maybe high 8's. What kind of car was this. That mustang in the vids would be more like a low 9 second (9.1, 9.0) car if it had 800rwhp, and could put it down or maybe a high 8 second pass with 800rwhp.

Well i guess its not streetable, its a solid roller 409 strocker, with about 25 or so lbs. of boost. Pretty much a race car with 10 pt cage, one seat, 2 speed tranny, fox body coupe, wish i could say more, but i havnt seen him in a while.

The fast auto cars don't have much of an issue with axles, and the actual center diff is very, very strong.

Paul Efantis went 8.765 @158.73 at Moroso Park with a stock IRS and a TH350 trans. So far, so good. With slicks and skinnies, the IRS Supras track very well down the quarter.

Gypsie george's Mustang does not make CLOSE to 800rwhp I think he'd probably OWN that Supra. If it did make 800rwhp it weighs ~2900lbs (Maybe less) where as the Supra probably weighs ~3800lbs <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> The Supra was spinning and if the Mustang could have hooked up the 800rwhp (if he had it), it would have been game over.

The Supra is bad ***. I dont know why they tried to race you, but I wasn't there to talk to little Ricky haha. But there is no way that thing makes 800rwhp. If it did its the slowest 800rwhp Mustang around...
