They were almost dead even on the final run. The Z06 was able to pull on him in the first runs, but if you watch he is pulling a little bit on each shift, not in between the gears. The Cobra owner isn't a bad driver, but the Z06 guy is driving his *** off! At the strip, that car length should only be about a tenth difference.

Oh, and I've also seen a guy with a 460rwhp Cobra that trapped 114mph consistently at a track with < 1000ft DA. He was a terrible driver though, hehehe.

Well....his car is not making 470rwhp then...cuz there is no way that it would have had that outcome.

And yes they do trap that....including my brothers that has shitty sumitomo tires in the rear, and only makes 447rwhp and 494rwtq. I have personally driven his car 120mph in the 1/4....timeslip to prove it. A nice 2.0 60ft....with a 12.1 et at a little over 120. At the SHITTIEST TRACK in the world.....Orlando Speed World.

My car makes around 430-450. I can drive pretty well...and my brother is decent, and I cannot keep up with his car from a roll. I have gone 119 in the 1/4. I have beat many of stock Z06's in my car.

Cobra's weigh a little more than 3600 lbs. I dont see how you can make up the 100-120 rwhp and probable 130-160 rwtq difference by just having a 500lb lighter car.

I just have never seen a stock Z06 even pull a cammed fbody (and have witnessed dozens of races)....much less a h/c f bod or 03' cobra.

Great vid, and you represent well. Just hard to believe.....and if you read this post....I am not the only one who thinks so.

He pulled a C6 Z06.....and you are telling me that a 470+ cobra that probably makes more than 500rwtq cant pull a 03 Z06?????? The cobra hands down makes more power and definitely torque than the fbod in this vid. More than makes up for giving up 200 lbs or so.

Not to **** on anyones party but since that fbod pulled on the C6 Z06 pretty much every time then that probably means that he has at least if not more than 500hp considering the C6 Z06 has 505hp BONE STOCK from the factory.
And if it wants to get into technicality put a super charger on the vette and then lets see what happens there would be no comp.

not trying to make anyone mad just my 2cents being it was heading off to a Chevy vs. Ford war.

Not pissing on my party...and all opinions and comments welcome. I am not upset in the least and I hope nobody else is, not trying to offend anyone.......and I am sure that everyone else calling b.s. were not either.

But you proved exactly my point. A car that makes less or maybe similar hp to the cobra......and a 347 will make a considerable amount less tq, beat a C6 Z06. So why would it have a problem beating a 03 Z06??????

That Z06 can be bone stock. Lets see 3050LB very aeromdynamic car with 350-360RWHP (STOCK) Vs a 3800LB Box like the cobra 470RWHP. Do the math guys it not that big of deal. By the way an exaust doesn't give the Z06's any more HP the Titaniums flow very well.

Curb weight that I have always seen is 3118 for the Z06....and 3665 for Cobra.

And explain to me how 120rwhp...and easily 150rwtq can't make up that difference in a heartbeat............

Don't chalk it up to driver, cuz the Z06 was pulling through shifts and while they were rowing through the gear. I could believe it if the Cobra would regain ground while in gear, but to lose ground shifting and through the whole gear????

Just tough to swallow when I have seen diefferent over and over and over again.

I think some of you guys are totally lost when it comes to this.. Look at my sig.. When my Cobra was at 470 it was WAY faster then my cam Z06. Yes Cobras are trapping 122-124 at that power level. No a stock Z06 should NOT be beating one. Maybe the guy just has a turd for a Stang? Either way congrats on that kill, and take your car to the track show us that low 11 at 122+ you should be running.. LOL!

Let me shed some light here...

First of all, either that C5 Z06 is not stock, or that Cobra doesn't have 470 rwhp. PERIOD. A stock C5 Z06 would NOT pull a 470 rwhp Cobra in any way, shape or form.

Second of all, in that video that Mike#9 posted, the first race was a 610 rwhp Whipple Cobra vs. a bone stock C6 Z06.

Fadi how are you liking your Z06? My Friend here in Houston has had his for some time now and it has been a joy to ride in.. Very fast cars from the factory not to mention the power they gain with minor mods is insane, and that's coming from a Cobra owner! Either way congrats on your purchase I'm sure you very are satisfied.

That Z06 could very well be bone stock. All my experience shows me it takes an extra 100 rwhp for the slowbras to keep up. A Z06 w/ a 1/2 tank of gas is 3050lbs and very aerodynamic w/ great gearing. The Cobra is about 3700 lbs and is shaped like a brick. I've had both.

I got my lowly '01 to run 12.15 @ 115 when it laid down 338 rwhp. That same night I had a run w/ a intake, pullied, catback redfire metallic '03. The owner stated he was making 463 rwhp... he had the dyno sheet.

It was a hell of a drag race... I beat him by 1/2 a car that's it. Furthermore, he got me out of the hole as he was on drag radials compared to my stock Goodyear SCs... it was 3rd and nailing 4th that I caught up and put the little bit on him.

Hey man,

I am loving everything about it except the fact that I haven't driven it for 2 mths due to the snow up here in MI. Other than that, it is the best car I have ever owned (Had an 04 Viper before it). GM did an incredible job with this one..

Look at the car's mirror and side molding on the window when the racing starts.....it is a 4th gen camaro. And does that sound like a KB cobra....or a N/A LS1???? Come on....that is so easy to tell that it is not a KB cobra.
