sure we will let them look under the hood.
wont be much of a sleeper with the intake sticking out of the hood.
it wont be ready by march 10th. we still have to do the cage, tranny, fuel system and who knows what else. we did get to test fire it on wedensday. we just pluged in the mds stuff, put 12volts to it, gave it a squirt of starting fluid and it fired right up.

Put me down for any weekend wrenching, or just being the pizza guy that buys the pizza to keep everyone well fed. I had no idea you guys were up to no good. I will look around my garage, I might have a thing or two to put in.

it runs, we temped up a fuel system and battery and it fired right up. runs and idles and revs. the msd/megasquirt is a real easy to do combo on the ls1.

What a great project! I enjoyed going through every picture you guys posted!
Are you going to do any internal work to the engine? Lower compression at all?
What cam, heads, tranny, and rear you will be running?
Post a list of parts you're using as of now

th400 with brake and reverse manual valve body
precision 3400 9.5" converter
8.8 rear from a lincoln, rebuilt stock posi with extra clutch
bolt on mustang rear suspension parts
5gallon fuel cell
megasquirt
msd ignition controler
mp70 turbo
50lb injectors
4" thick ebay intercooler
6-10point bar/cage not sure on this one
home built turbo set up
probably said this allready but most of this car is being built with parts people had laying around. from that list above the parts we had to buy were the msd box, converter and intercooler. all the other parts and tons of other items people just had laying around and are lending(or giving if we loose) to the project.
this saturday about 10 people showed up to look at and work on the car. for the most part we are just having a good time bullshitting but some work is geting done. it is time to figure out the bar/cage and then the fuel system and battery.

Is the rear going to hold with slicks?
I know that you guys are on a budget, but I would hate to see you break down after the first pass on pinks. Gotta use some quality parts so the car stays together

8.8's are prety strong. we are going to weld the axle tubes and probably run one of those aluminum covers with the girdle built into it. we will give it a good testing before we even apply to get on the show. we have talked about it and decided to get the car prety much floged before we apply. we would rather let the car sit for a year or whatever than goto the show unprepared.
