my STS goes over the axel. Did you make that straight pipe or did it come that way?

Is there a benefit to doing that?

yes, less bends in the charge pipe = faster boost to the motor. with the regular over axle could mean there's usually loss of boost due to all the bends. wrapping also helps a TON on STS cars. plus the right cam too

why does the wrapping help? I thought the pipes being exposed cooled them down. Wouldn't the heat wrap keep the heat in?
I gotta get a cam eventually I gota baby in there now.

Keepin the hot side hot will move the exhaust gases faster. Supposed to spool the turbo faster if I am thinking correctly. I am somewhat of a noob to FI though.

You're correct, you want to keep the hotside hot and then the cool side cool so the intake temps stay down.

thanx guys, you're right, the wrapped exhaust will keep the heat in all the way to the turbo thus causing faster spool and easier kills on the street

i got a custom cam from TRTTURBO.COM and it works amazing, keeps me at a decent vacuum set and when i get on it, she'e ready to play. i just need a new clutch and a forged motor
