I am not surprised by the result at all! I have a 95 ta with 54,000 miles - a4,LT'S, DR's,ORY,3.73's, Magnaflow, CAI and Madz28 tuning and have beat Mach1's. I thought that the general consensus was that stock for stock a Mach1 was a good race for an LS1. (With mods a differant story!) I have not had alot of problems with stock ls1's.

It takes very little to get an aluminum head LT1 to 300+rwhp, I have one in my '67 Impala SS, LT4 heads and intake, flow matched injectors, Comp cam, headers and of course true duals from the factory and custom tuning. It puts 321 h.p. to the wheels. Lt1's arwe not up with LSx's but they ain't no joke, son.
Nice times and my compliments, but an 04 Mach 4.30's l/ts and tune run low 12's lol! you don't even have to break the bolts on the valve covers.Well let me just say pulling an Ls1 with long tubes and lid with those little mods that is trully unbelievable ,what ever the case like I said good kill and fast car no doubt about it.

No need to knit pick the guys post. We all know what he's talking about. My 95 z went 12.9 at 101 with 3.73's, dumped exhaust after the cat, K&N FIPK and Nitto's. LT1's can definitly move and gears are a huge equalizer for those with less hp.

how did you go 12.9 at only 101? my best with LM cat back, 4.10 gears, SLP cai and short throw was a 13.8 @101. i had no traction with a nearly 2.2 60ft but surely i couldnt find a second with tires. my car is a '97 Trans am w/275/40 Kumos.

you should be able to run a solid 13.5-6 on good street tires, add a drag tire and some longtubes, 12's should not be much of a problem. His could be an auto, and while I agree about the trap being a little low, it certainly may be that his car moved off the line fast and lost steam up top.
