yes you can get hurt on any bike, however, as a noob its easy to accidentally roll on the throttle in a turn or braking situation. And the extra power can give u problems there if you are not prepared. Its just something to be careful for.

a lower hp bike is going to be alot more forgiving for beginner mistakes

I just got through the 500 mile initial break in. Now I can take it up to 6k rpm and on the freeway, so much more fun now! 500 more miles and I can use the full rev range

not all roads are straight... anyone ever wonder why the 'Busa is priced less than a gsxr-1000? I've had many friends purchase a Hayabusa and about 2 months later they are selling it because it's "only a one dimensional sport bike." The only thing a Busa has to it's name is it's speed which can easily be repeated and sometimes overcome by an experienced rider on a newer 1000. It is undeniably one of the worst handling motorcycles and should not be reguarded by anyone as a beginner motorcycle. It's simply too heavy, too fast, and too tipsy for a beginner to successfully gain the experience needed to pilot himself safely as well as keep things safe for those riding around him. Check out any knowledgable motorcycle forum... and you will see my advice is very well documented. I'm just trying to offer an experienced opinion so that no one gets hurt, cuz lets face it... there's no airbags on motorcycles, there's no crash safety, and certainly no restraints. Somethin screws up and its u and the road and whatever you are hurtling/rolling towards.

I found some track pics... i'll scan em in a bit.

I saw a concept goldwing w/ an airbag a few years ago at the bike show... I spent most of my younger years riding dirtbikes and I feel like that helped me learn much better control of a bike. If your buying a first bike and have little to no riding experiance(sp?), don't make a foolish mistake and buy to much bike. Any rider thats been riding a long time will tell you to start out with something small and work your way up. I would love to of been there when Kellen Winslow JR. went to the local bike dealer and told the salesman..."Yeah I'm looking to buy my first bike"...salesman"Oh, your over 200+, you need this gixer 750" lol...*******.
