Default Dry lake bed shot of my Turbo SS

Dry lake beds look awesome, but driving on to them makes your car a powdered donut in about 10 seconds

Here is a 1600x850 for those who want a desktop

Desktop size version added to my first post, 1600x850

Do you guys think this would be good enough for poster size? I've thought about making it into one if people are interested. I have a 20x30" print coming to me to see how I like it. The final would have no watermarking of course.

What price would be good? I believe the printing would be actualy photographic vs what you typically see on a poster so the quality should be higher, the price too

I've got some other pics of misc stuff at http://zombiess.deviantart.com/gallery/ if you wanna check them out. I still need to upload my death valley pics later tomorrow.

I'm kinda new to photography as a whole but I have some background in art and had some training in HS and a little on College. Got my first real digital camera 3 months ago, haven't put it down since.

Just drove out there. It's about 4 miles of paved road, then a 1/4 mile of dirt road to get onto the lake bed but it's smooth. I drove another mile or two on the lake bed looking for a good spot for the pic. I take my srt 4 out there and to another site (has higher clearance) all the time with the local paragliding/hang gliding club. We use a tow rig on the back of a pickup to get airborn and use this lakebed a lot. One of the reasons I know about it.

I do post process all my pics as a lot of the shots out of the camera can be pretty dull looking. I have several Nikon bodies now. I think the Nikon D40 and the 18-55 kit lens gave the best out of the camera result compared to the D50, D70 and D100. I didn't even really touch any of the shots I did with the D40 because they were so good out of the camera. I try to keep my shots as natural looking and unedited as possible.

Up until 3 months ago I didn't own a single DSLR, now I own five bodies lol. I'm selling some off though (bought them because they were cheap). All my stuff is pretty generic. I have cheap camera bodies, cheap lenses, a cheap tripod cheap filters and a cheap ball head. I guess you could say I'm cheap.

The camera isn't what makes the photo look good. If you look at my deviant art site, view the roadside painting shot and the IFC Tower shot. Both of those were taken with 3 megapixel point and shoot cameras.

I've edited this shot as far as I feel comfortable with, I don't like over doing it. Most people over do the editing and I'm not a big fan of that. I don't think editing should be noticable. To each their own though, it's art.

It is by far my most extensively edited picture. I'm into it for about 8 hours of surgery. There is so much editing because I'm a newb and made a bunch of mistakes when shooting. But yes, the car is actually on the dry lake bed and I had the 800lbs of dust on the car to prove it
