Dumb red light running lady > My SS :( **PICS** This happened yesterday evening. I was at an intersection waiting for the light to turn green b/c I had to get in front of the car next to me because my lane ended a few hundred feed after the other side of the intersection. Light turns green, the usual few cars pass in front of me that just barely ran the red light, and I ease into the throttle because it's raining. I check my side mirror to see if i need to give it more gas to get in front of the car to my left, I see she's going really slow, so I just start to accellerate at my normal pace. About 1/3 through the intersection I see a white streak heading across the intersection and WHAM!! My airbags deploy and I am completely shocked at what just happened. I hit her in her passenger side rear quarter. Some 60 year old lady in a Lincoln LS ran a red light that HAD to be red for at least 3 seconds. She tried to tell the state trooper that the light was just turning red as she went under it, but in the end, he found her at fault and gave her the ticket. Thank god for that much at least.
I also thought about what might have happened if it were not raining. I would have taken off faster from the light and she probably would have t-boned me and I wouldn't be alive to be typing this right now.

Yeah best part is nothing happened to you. Your car can be fixed or replaced, but life can't be. I think i probably would have given her a heart attack, i still think old people shouldn't drive anymore.

Wow another SS! Hope ur ok. The same thing happened to me about 2 1/2 months ago. What's up w/ladies passing red lights? Anyways check out my thread and I hope everything turns out better than before. I hope you have insurance because my car wasn't as bad as yours but the price tag for the repairs was $8,000.00.
