The engine is built around a custom aluminum cylinder block that was CNC-milled from a single block of billet aluminum. And while the cylinder heads, intake system and dry-sump oiling system are stock LS7 components, the engine - which has larger bore and stroke dimensions than the 7.0L (427-cubic-inch) LS7 - uses a one-off reciprocating assembly, including a forged steel crankshaft, forged rods and forged pistons. Katech Engines, the company that builds engines for the Corvette C6.R racing program, developed the engine.
billet aluminum is a very strong type of metal, not the same as forged aluminum. Billet blocks are stronger, lighter and make more power than a typical aluminum block.

Damn, I had no idea that Pratt and Miller Co. was located in MI, I wonder if the car was ever driven around here and there was a chance to see it on the street. I Could have took it from a 40mph roll......
..as for the car![Icondrool](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies2/icondrool.gif)
I love it because no matter how it looks, with the dry sump, billet block and upgraded tranny, you could drive the **** out of it and it would handle it like a champ.
