Anyone heard or seen this!? 600hp 8.2 Liter billet LS based block that runs on ethanol E85!

Jay Leno apparently was unwilling to wait for the new 2009 Corvette ZR1 and decided he needed to get his 600-HP swerve on a wee bit early. The humongously chinned one worked with the C6.R-builders at Pratt & Miller to design this -- a C6RS -- a Corvette inspired by both the Corvette Z06 as well as the racetrack-ready C6.R. To all this, Leno added his own little touch of corniness -- the ability to run it on the ethanol-blended E85. Leno's alternative-fuel supercar is powered by a custom and giant 8.2-liter (500 cubic-inch) all-aluminum small-block V8 that pumps out approximately 600 horses and 585 lb-ft of torque. On the outside, the wider front and rear fenders and a wider rear fascia with an integrated spoiler on top combine with the racing-style diffuser and the waterfall hood with venting show some clear indications of C6.R inspiration. All we know is we want to drive this more than the Leno-inspired Ecojet concept car from last year. Full press release after the jump.

Yeah 500ci and only 600HP does sound pretty shitty, right? But then i bet that car sounds bad as ****, and probably drives as smooth as a stock C6. Yeah that 500ci. can get him a ton of power, but its the fact that his car drives like any stock vette that makes it a bad ***.

Its really not that bad for ALL MOTOR running on ethanol e85 which makes less power than conventional gas. Plus its entirely carbon fiber body panels, probably weighs less than 3k lbs. This thing will haul ***. Plus jay leno already has a 1000 hp ls7 twin turbo in a 66 olds tornando.

Got this quote from a story about E85 Ethanol: "E85 ethanol carries an octane rating of 100-105, versus 85-95 for gasoline". So in a way E85 is a more potent fuel source than regular gasoline. I would like to see a vid of Jay Lenos vette vs. a ZR1, even though i don't think Jays will be as light in weight.

I was under the impression E85 makes a little more power. I think I read that on here in the thread about making an LS1 run on E85.
Back on track though, that is baaad ***. Seriously Jay Leno is one of the most car enthusiastic guys out there.

Has anyone noticed this block is 100 percent billet?? I wonder what kind of abuse this thing could take? I am not too sure, but I think a billet block would be stronger than a c5r block. I bet custom billet blocks aren't cheap. Damn Jay Leno and his million of dollars and who knows how many cars....

anyways, the thing with e85 is that its supposed to be way cheaper than gasoline... cheap enough to offset the mileage thing. basically... less money.. more fill ups. it DOES have a higher octane rating but it takes MORE fuel to make the power because the specific heat, i think it is, is les than gasoline. its pretty interesting stuff when u read into it
