Drivers Race yes, but so is a 350Z vs an LS1...its possible on a cold day in hell with a crappy driver the LS1 will lose.

Equal drivers Cobra wins every time, its not personal its just fact.

I think a lot of people are completly taking this thread out of context.

re-read the thread title. it does not say "proof that LS1s are more powerful and faster then an '03 Cobra"

The point was it can be done, thats all, no more, no less. obvious to some, others...not so much.

Not to mention it's a video thats about 3 years old, I forgot about it and stumbled upon it and figured I'd post it for ***** and giggles.

I have owned both stock and modded and the Cobra is a little faster in stock form. My first 03 went 12.6 @113 dead stock.
The best I could get my ws6 to run when it was brand new and dead stock was a 13.1 @109. I think with a better track the WS6 could have run in the 12s but it didnt.

Bahhhh...what would you know about it.

I bought my Cobra then had it at the track a few days later.
I only made 5 passes so I never did figure the car out. I was
only able to run 13.0 @ 111mph on a horrible 2.4 60 foot.
That was with no powershifting and fumbling through gears.
I literally made hundreds of passes in my '00 Z28 and the
best I could muster N/A was a 13.0 @ 107mph. Fortunately
for me, I sprayed the bejesus out of it.

Regardless, the simple fact of the matter is that Cobras are faster
in stock trim with equal drivers (as we've been saying for 5+ years now).
But honestly, does it really matter? What percentage of LSx cars or
Cobras are stock? Run what you brung and hope you've brought enough!

RUN WHAT YOU BRUNG .....now thats spoken like a true racer. And remember no matter what you drive unless your driving a 7 second GN than someone out there in a competing car is faster.

And a lot of the time, cobra drivers just throw parts on the car, since they are easy to get power from, and don't know how to drive. In my opinion, it doesn't matter if you outrun a car 2 sec. faster than yours--You beat the driver AND the car he was in. I am so tired of people saying "you just outran the driver, not the car"--Bull sh*t. If i race someone, they aren't on foot, they are driving a car, and it's not my job to teach them to drive! Btw--good kill.

ford had to sc a mustang just to give an f body a good race at twice the cost. why cant ford build a naturally aspirated mustang that will beat a stock fbody. you would think after 5 years since the last fbody left the assembly line ford would have thought of something else besides a sc and make it affordable.
a sc fbody will kill a 03 or 04 cobra! flame me or fame me i dont care. its just my .02

I totally agree. But the rumor, and early spy tech shows ford developing a bigger engine (available up to 7 liters) to be released in early 09 in the F-150, and then for use in the mustang. It hasn't been confirmed to whether or not it will be overhead cam or pushrod, but more sources than not say pushrod. Remember, all of us 5.0 guys back in the day were talking **** on the camaro's and saying the same thing ya'll are saying now, and look what happened. Chevrolet went to church and prayed, and thus the LS-1 was born. Now it seems Ford is trying to get religion. lol I just hope that all of the Big Three-GM, Ford, Chrysler have comparable performance engines and sizes at the same time. That will make things interesting, and more competitive with parts releases--and lower prices.

Mach 1...and it's only a 281cid motor and pricing is very similiar.

It depends on the setup. I've destroyed my fair share of blown fbodies.

My 2 cents are that it's time for you to find a new argument.
That one is pretty weak.

another one of these threads!!!!! i made one of these a long *** time ago, and ive seen hundreds of these still today. These types of threads need to end. I mean, its one thing to explain you beat a 03/04 cobra and how the race went, but then to start the argument of fbodies are faster than cobras, and mustangs have to be supercharged to win, and then mustang owners come chiming in and telling their side.... its getting old, real old, and boring, and .... lame
