Proof that a mostly stock LS1 can Take an '03 Cobra I finally uploaded an older vid of me racing a friend of mines '03 cobra and winning.
at the time ALL I had was lid, Borla Catback and sportline spings...and thats it! His Cobra was stock except for iMufflers. (we were also at 5000 feet altitude) watch at about 2:12

Proof??! Who needs proof? Every true car enthusiast should know GM's Gen 3/4 engines are superior to Ford's Modular engine. It has been proven too many times, lol.

Because almost all of the people who say that either know nothing about either car or never drove a stock Cobra. Just because they're incredible easy to make fast, doesn't mean they're fast stock.

I agree with the post up above about being a drivers race, I ran a guy with a 03 cobra "suppose to make 450 hp" with my previous setup only making 270ish hp and he pulled me by a fender. No one believes it but i had a witness in the car. his excuse was he was just messing with me..... but why would you want to mess with someone and make it look like you were getting pulled right?

Cool vid! Stock for stock it is a close race, but in all honesty if the Cobra driver can launch and bang gears properly he should beat the f-body. I just get so pissed at all the ********* on svtperformance that think there cars are gods and that f-bodies are lowely pieces of ****! It's funny how their attitudes can change so much from 2002 to 2003. They weren't talking near as much trash when production year vs. production year they were getting walked on.
There is no doubt though that with minimal mods the FI Cobras can be nasty.

Of course it's a drivers race. Every race is a drivers race.
Cobras are the faster car in stock trim, period. That is a fact.
Are they beatable by stock LS1's? Of course they are. Not every
driver in the world is John Force or Evan Smith.
Why are we having this discussion 5 years after '03 Cobras came out?

I agree . I'm on the f body side. Very few F body's are factory freaks. Some people are better drivers.

This guy I work with has a mustang (not a cobra which could be why he said this) and we were talking the other day and he actually said this:
"Any real car guy will say how much **** fords are and esp. how much **** mustangs are."
I couldnt beleive he was admiting his car was gay but just goes to show thier not all stuck up.

Absolutey no question that the Cobra is a faster car stock vs. stock. It does not matter about all this factory freak stuff.....the cobra is still faster. I have never seen a 2002 or older fbody trap over 110 stock...and the cobras can.

****, i only traped 110 with bolt ons and 4.10's in the TA. And i would like to think i can drive the car pretty good. The stock cobras re quick cars, but they are beatable.
