If I had to guess, when he put in the larger injectors, he never tuned for them. So now it's dumping a lot of fuel and running pig rich. The job of the cats is to get hot enough to burn off the unburnt fuel, but not this much. Once a cat starts to degrade, they become very brittle and will fall apart like this. They are strong when fully intact, but once compromised, they are done.

something is not right with that video. If you look closely at the ground when the video of startup starts then you can see stuff all over the ground behind the exhaust tips already. This is staged or something. If I just did a bunch of new work to my car and heard that for the first time?!? I would instantly shut her off.

Showed this to my pop's (Chevy/Dodge/Ford Heavy line tech for 26+ yrs) and he said essentially the same thing in the above post. Good analysis Alchemist. He also stated that if he returned everything to stock and erased any evidence of that video he can get them covered under the GM 7yr/70,000 mi. warranty hahaha.
