My car is full weight as well and it's balanced, I belive it's something like 51/49 , so very little weight transfer for the 1/4 mile, not like F bodies or mustangs. Incase you didn't know, I used to own a 2000 TA WS6 myself, and bone stock it ran 12.9-13.1's all day. The vette is NOT a drag strip set up car, it's a daily driver with the BENEFITS of being able to pull over a "g" and make a 1/4 mile pass in the low 11's. As for "wrapping it around a tree"....well, you're more likely to do that to a front heavy car, inducing a "pendulum" effect when hard braking, making the rear swing around and then into a tree. The vette brakes are just peachy, thanks for being concerned, and while I'm hardly the best there is, I can drive my car pretty well, so I'm not too worried about adding hardwood to the interior of the vette.

i wasn't suggesting that i want to switch gears in mid corner. but if im coming out of one corner and i'm setting up for the next one (maybe at half or twice the speed), if i don't have to take my hand off the wheel to shift gears, i find it can be helpful to be able to keep my hands on the wheel.
