Def. not a viper guy, but that is the only vid i have seen with a stock c6 z06 beating a stock "08" Viper.

Don't get me wrong, that's the out come i'd prefer. : /

 

Yeah, 300lbs be damned at that speed. 100 extra hp is gonna take the vette....they're quartering mid-130's with just full exhaust through cats.

I'd like to see a few more "stock" races to determine the true outcome.

Yup you guys win. The vette has a lower hp to weight ratio and due to the fact there is 1 vid of it beating a new Viper it is the faster car. I drive a GM product but I swear the fanboys on this site are just as bad as the import guys sometimes.

It has already been proven numerous times which car is faster but some are apparently blinded by reason on this site. I will post a vid of a Honda beating a F-body or vette and watch what happens but when a faster car loses to your beloved C6Z you guys will cry the blues.

I love the C6Z and when they come down to around $45K I will buy one but I know it is not faster than the 08 viper with equal drivers.

 

Track times are driver dependent and that is not an 08 Viper so lets post Apples to Apples. It is a 500 hp model which the C6Z is def faster than by a considerable amount.

 

In that race ZO6 had the camera man and Viper was alone so both have same weight but the Viper had 70-75rwhp.

IMO if both cars have a driver mod Viper is faster but not by much.

Yes, the z06 is stock, yes, the viper had a passenger of equal weight.. just about. Both cars are stock. The guy in the viper has had it for a while and has also tracked the car. So, IMO, that is enough time to get to know your shift points.

A stock z06 is capable of LOW 11's, some have gotten in the 10's at 130mph/128mph respectively. Thus, it has potential when driven right and with the right conditions. Now, the viper mph'ers higher, on average.. so it should be faster... but only by a tick or two. I say, don't rely so much on those mag articles.

Now, with over 520rwhp stock, the viper should be faster... but its also 300lbs or so heavier. With that, again, the viper should be faster... but, its not how much power you got, but how you USE that power.

 

It's a damn roll race, not much skill needed there.

i just watched about 5 videos on youtube and the viper only won one of the five so this seems to be about par.
