Default 2003 Corvette z06 vs 2005 Covette Z51

Well,my buddy got himself a C6z51 and got it tuned and put down some very healthy numbers. So we both figured.... The time had come to give everyone what they wanted...

C5Z06 (ziptie mod, tune)(w/ one passenger)
V.S
C6Z51 (CAI, Catback and Tune)

We decided to do 1 dig race and 2 rolls to see how our cars would fair against each other. So the first race we decided to do was a dig.

So we line up, and we honk it off 3 times. I manage to take him off the line and pull about half a car in first gear. Second gear I manage to keep the 1/2 a car lead. and then 3rd gear, I start to slowly pull away, pulling about a full car by the end of third. 4th gear my car continues to slowly pull away till we shut down. (me me winning by about 1&1/2 cars.)

Then we decide to take it to the freeway. We try to pull a 40-45 roll but damn traffic was building up behind us so we had to do a 60ish roll. So we take off and MNM pulls a full car on me (I started in the wrong gear....) so I shift to 4th and slowly begin creeping it back, when he shuts down at our agreed speed of 120mph. (me losing by about 1/2 a car length)

So we decide to turn around on the freeway and give it one more go to uneven that tie and declare a winner, so we slow down to about 40 mph and take off..... And I have to say this was the best race I have ever had in life. We pull through second gear to about 75mph, neither car gaining an inch. We shift to 3rd at exactly the same time (cars have the same gearing) and then my car slowing begins inching him out. We shift into 4th gear and my slow pull continues... by the end of the race (probably going about 130-140 mph) I manage to pull about a full car on him.

So the c5z managed to pull it off. The cars are pretty even down low, but my top end seems to edge him out. But I have to say congrats to MNM because his car moves out hard as hell. I was very proud of the way it ran. Now he says he's getting a header so once thats done, I'm sure he will roll out on me. But until then, read my avatar....

BTW my GF is a noob at filming so we only got the dig race on film.... sorry about that, We might have to re run to get the others on film lol.

I think he was trying to point out the odd modding strategy that your buddy plans to utilize with this "header" on his V8 engine

You put 2.5" primary longtubes on one side, and leave the other stock.

This way, you can have low end torque from the manifold, and also MAD top end from the big "header." Also convenient when a cop pops the hood, you just have to direct him to the proper side
