1) It's turbos weren't spooling correctly.
2) Bad batch of gas.
3) Car was still 'breaking in'.
4) A bug clogged up the intercooler.
5) John Force was driving the Z06.
6) GTR was an African spec model, not meant for the Middle East.
7) The video prism was mistakenly reversed, the GTR actually wasn't slaughtered.

I can see maybe off the line it would be better to get a different driver. But from a roll its obvious the gtr has no chance at top end.

So does anyone care to explain how a completely stock Z06 out launches a turbo AWD car WITH launch control and does so on a set of 19 inch street tires? And how does one do so on a dusty middle eastern highway?

I think the launch control is a bit hard to understand untill you finally learn how to use it. I don't think its as easy as it seems, well from what im looking at in the video. I think they should have atleast done a lower roll, something like 10-20mph.

The GTR didn't have a chance period.

They both have the same 0-60 time's which would be an indication that someone capable of launching the C6Z properly, such as the driver in the vid, would be able to be door to door with the GTR and then just walk away once clicked into 2nd gear, as was shown in the video.

Wait, isn't this supposed to be the easiest car to drive EVAR!?

Regardless, as I stated, both are door to door 0-60 and then from then on, the C6Z stretches its legs and walks away. Literally



LOL and these fanboi's thought FOR SURE the GTR would beat the C6Z and give the ZR-1 a run for its money....



Edit - Anyone else find it funny how the C6Z started in 2nd gear @ 35mph? No wonder the GTR did "okay" for a few seconds. Imagine if that was 1st gear like it should have been. ABSOLUTE RAPE!

I was looking last night see if I could find 60ft times from any of the magazine tests for the GTR but none were listed. I did find a sheet from car and driver show like the 0-30 times and all and while it doesn't mean much, the GTR was 3 tenths of a second quicker than the Z06 until they got to 60. Like I said, it doesn't mean much, however to me the GTR should have pulled harder than it did. Like I said before, there's more to this story than the video leads on.

The GTR should be simple to launch, it's gods gift to racing after all. The Z06 takes a little more finesse. From what it appears, it's a drivers race down low but the Z06 will walk all over it from there out.

Just like lilbuddy said. The Z on the roll races in the right gear would have made it look like it was standing still. I think this vid puts the hype to rest. As if test data from magazines was not enough. Come on! These things barely hit 120 traps in the 1/4 while the Z is mid-upper 120s! The results are just as I predicted.

Things we know to be true.

GTR= Ugly, Slow, POS that got over hyped by its manufacturer.

Corvette Z06= Faster and better looking than the GTR.

Corvette ZR1= Beating the GTR's *** even worse.

Moral to the story and this applies to manufacturers also....DON"T BE A RICER AND TALK SMACK THAT YOU CAN"T BACK UP!
