I surely hope you dont mean stock for stock, And if not why compare a modded 2J against a stock LS1. Not many stock LS1s around, mod for mod Id say go with an LS1, better yet an LS7

Stock for stock obviously the LS1 is faster. However, the 2jz won't have to be rebuilt to run into the single digits reliably, in a full weight car.

HUH?>?

you realize a 2JZ N/A motor is COMPLETLY different then a 2JZGTE right? meaning a N/A 2JZ will NOT go anywhere NEAR single digits without a fully internal build.

Incorrect. The internals are almost exactly the same. The rods and pistons are actually. The pistons are made of the same material and the same process but have less dish so it creates a higher compression ratio. The 2JZGE head flows MORE than the GTE head does as well.

The 2JZGE has been proven to make 700+whp and has ran into the 9s in a Lexus SC300. For a street car you don't need to build even the GE. It will make more power than you can ever put down.

^Who cares? I'd do the LS1 swap into the Supra just to **** people off. Teach them to swap chick sounding motors into Camaros and Mustangs.

well you are correct about that...... you should definitely swap a 2JZGE into your bird and go run 9n's

true story...when i worked for venom they ONLY used GE blocks in the supra and the tundra...they went sub 7s with those blocks

Don't bother, this is something the DDRS (Domestic Driving Rice Supporters)/TOY Poopra GE/GTE worshippers/deifiers will NEVER understand!!
But I agree with the doing it to simply **** THEM (and ALL of the other fanboieezz) OFF!!!

Funny, coming from the guy that drives a car assembled in Canada with parts made in Mexico that should mean more.

So if you are in the business of pissing "loyalists" off, why not iron duke swap an original COPO Camaro or throw a 3.8 Ford V6 into an original GT500? It will accomplish the same as an LS series swap into a Supra. Lower its value, and put a slower/less capable (stock) engine into a fantastic car.

For that matter I will also say that the GTE MKIV (I say that ONLY because it gets a better ignition setup and better manual transmission from the factory) can do anything the Fbody can but do it better. That is coming off the top of my head as I can't think of anything the Supra hasn't beaten the fbody at. Drag racing, road racing, highway racing, street racing, most dyno proven power on stock bottom end, fastest all stock drivetrain (transmission/rear end), etc. But I guess proven performance escapes you.

I would moddify ANY car. I don't care if I **** off loyalists. I'm not a real big fan of first gen Camaros or the original GT500. The only reason I'd rather **** off Supra people is because, while LS1 guys joke about the LS1 being made by the hand of God, Supra guys actually believe that the Supra was.
