If he was a stand up person who honored the deals that he makes, you wouldn't be reading this thread.

This reminds me of a story I heard on the news: store owner is held up at knife point by a would-be thief. The store owner defends himself with a baseball bat and injures the thief. The reporter tries to make it out like the thief is the victim, and the store owner is a bad person for beating him up with a baseball bat. Well, guess what? The thief wouldn't have gotten his *** beat if he weren't trying to steal!!! It doesn't matter if he successfully stole something or just made a failed attempt.

Here's another example: let's say you call up a shop (not a private seller) and agree to purchase a part for a set price, and they only have one in stock. Before they charge your credit card, they get a better offer from someone else so they come back and say "sorry the price went up $300 or we sell it to someone else". As a consumer, wouldn't you want to know about practices like these when you were looking for a company to do business with? Think of the Better Business Bureau, it's the commercial equivalent of the feedback forum.

I'm losing my faith in people. You used to be able to complete deals with a handshake and your word, and regardless of future events the transaction would be carried through. Evidently this is no longer the case, behavior like tailpipe's is now acceptable and should be defended?
You're telling stories that apply nothing to what happened. Youre only 1 of 10 billion people that this has happened to.

I agree it sucks

But you left him negative trader rating when no cash/ merchandise exchange happened. Is that allowed?

I give up, I'm done. Why do I bother posting when nobody bothers to read it before they reply and contribute their $0.02? I HAD THE MONEY READY AND WAS WAITING TO PAY HIS ASKING PRICE. Nobody seems to give a **** about feedback in the feedback forum. Why do we even have it?

Why have a Trader rating system? Maybe you guys think I shouldn't have left him negative feedback too?

The examples are not direct matches, but they are related to what happened or to the replies in this thread.

Why wouldn't it be allowed? I had a negative trader experience with him.

After an exchange with kkslds in another thread, and some further reflection on my part, I have removed all references to "scammer" and replaced them with more appropriate descriptions. I edited the title of this thread, but unfortunately it doesn't rename the thread in the forum list.

cus, according to gearhed, no transaction happend, so you cant leave feedback, thats why....

all im saying is, move on, you didnt lose money or anything....just like you said, you can buy them new for that price, so why make a big deal?

you cant compare a private seller to a business...diff morals/standards...

like i said, if i had deals from under me as well. i dont come make a post about it. i get over and move on....

Unfortunately, gearhed is gone along with about 30 other good mods/admins. I have already moved on from this transaction, that's why I removed the references to "scammer" yesterday afternoon. If anyone feels the need to delete my trader feedback for tailpipe, they can have at it.
