I know SilverZZ28 and he is not the type of person you are describing! I know of these tips and they are new (ie NEVER INSTALLED). I don't know how old they were but they were not installed. No clamp marks and hadn't been welded. Sounds like new tips to me. That and he sold them to you for about half what they are worth. He even offered you your money back. Maybe the title should read "BAD BUYER"! Any pics of these beat up, used, dirty, 15 year old tips?

I have to agree with John02SS. Not only have I dealt with SilverZ28, but I know him personally. He is above board and it would be toataly out of his character to lie to you about the tips. The tips were new! If you were looking for mirror polish inside and out then look at things besides exhaust components. My borla exhaust was rough on the inside but the tips were mirror like on the outside. If you are not completely sure on something, you should refrain from trying to ruin someones credibility.

I agree also. SilverZ would not sell you something as new if he knew it was used. Completly out of character. Exhaust parts are not perfect anyway. These tips were never installed. Why would you bash on him when you know you are in the wrong. Im Sorry but I disagree with you calling him a "Bad Seller".

I know SilverZZ28 personally, he's a great guy. He's definately not out to screw anyone. You are way too quick to bring this public, you should delete this thread and try to resolve the issue.

He and his wife just had a kid, I highly doubt he ignored your email, he's been a little busy lately.

I'm sure you guys can some to some sort of an agreement without dragging each other's names through the mud.

For all those interested, This " Gentleman" posted these tips as Brand new........what I recieved were scratched up tips that have black soot in them ( ie they have been on a car or in a fire!) This Gentleman has never offered any kind of compensation or a refund. I also had 3 e-mail conversations with no resolution....... As I stated this deal was a bad one, what I paid for the tips has nothing to do with the fact that I did not recieve what he posted as being for sale

SO BUYER BEWARE

On a side note: As I stated in my original post, I have all the e-mail converstaions between us. If SILVERZZ28 would like to resolve the issue, he can contact me, as I have tryed with no response. Other than the Statement " DID YOU WANT TO EAT OFF OF THEM"

gary

(Michael)These things are $125 each in jegs! Sounds more than reasonable! Here are a few pics

(gary)Friend.........Did not mean to insult, Best I would be willing to pay is $125.00.........hope that is a ok offer?
Thanks for your time,
Gary

(michael)I will do that +shipping. Whats your zip ?

(gary)Info is Gary Matteson............xx Berchman Drive Rochester NY 14x26 Screen name of GM98Z/GM01SS Just so there is no confusion, I am buyng the following parts: One set of New Borla tips Part # per your earlier e-mail. let me know how you want payment, and THANKS,
Gary

(michael)The shipping should be $7.85 considering I have the correct weight. I will say $8.00 . The total would be $133.00 total. How are you sending the money. Paypal or Money order

(gary)M/O...........and I will need your complete name addy and telephone #. Can send out the M/O today

(gary)James:
Will do, and thanks,
Gary

(Gary)James:
Sent out a bank M/O this pm, please let me know when the tips ship.

(michael)I will ship tomorrow by FedEx.

(gary)Just recieved the Borla tips..........You advertized these as new, the tips I recieved are definately used! I am hoping that these are not what you consider new, these have soot in the pipes, the bottoms of both sets of tips have been cleaned up with a abrasive substance to try to get rid of scrapes ( which are still visable!) and I am not sure these are the same part # that you advertized ( I think they were the universal tip, not the ones with the bend in them) Please let me know how you want to handle this, I DID NOT recieve the goods you advertized..........Gary
By the way I just checked the original post and you definately posted NEW tips, which these are not!

(michael)Sorry your not satisfied. I thought the same when I saw the tips new from borla ,but I promise you they are brand new. They have been sitting around for about 1yr. If you look they have never been clamped down or welded so exhaust could not have been through them. Also the plastic they were sent to you in was the original plastic. If would like you can give me a call (251)978-xxx2

(Gary)think what is fair is either a partial refund ($50.00) or send back my money order and I will ship the tips back to you. I too am sorry that I recieved tips in this condition, but your problem is with Borla, not the guy who was buying new Tips. I am sure you know what new is, and these are not that! These tips were definately on a car, there is no way something new can get soot on them ( like we all get from our exhaust) Hope we can work it out,
Gary

(michael)----Lost this email------- This where I talked about you returning them and I would refund you your money back (-) the $8 shipping and (-)$20 for my troubles. I had also sent you pictures and I did not offer a money back guarantee like walmart

(Gary)Well DUDE all I can say is what goes around...........I have done nothing but state the condition YOU said the tips were in...........you screwed me plain and simple......And as far as trying to get something for nothing.....get real, your used tips will not make or break me! I can see that you have no intention of being a good seller (ie: selling things as represented!) As far as you paying 20.00 for shipping, get real, shipping ( according to you was $7 and change, but lets call it $8.00) I will be sure to post the results of this deal, good or bad. borla tips

Default Re: SILVERZZ28 Bad Seller

I am not here to start any trouble, but Gary is one of my best friends.

It sounds like SILVERZZ28 is a guy that is respected by others; however, I looked at these tips on saturday and then again today. In my HONEST opinion, I would say these tips are not "brand new" as they were advertised. Are they in great shape? Sure. "Brand new" shape? No. I dont know if SILVER got these from someone else that told him they were brand new or what. I am not even saying that SILVER didnt know they were not brand new in his defense....Not sure if he was the original buyer of them or what.

Either way, it is obvious that there were some marks (scrapes) on the bottom side of the tips....on top of that, it looks like someone tried to wet sand them out and then polish that area because they do not have the same "polished" look there as the rest of the tip. There is even some polishing like white compound that was not completely wiped off the tips.

The biggest problem I have with these tips though is that one pair of the tips are actually pushed together. There is a small ~1/8" gap that is supposed to be between the two tips.....one of the sides the tips are COMPLETELY pushed together....not quite "brand new" IMO. Mabye Borla (or whatever supplier) sold these tips as "brand new"....mabye it is not SILVER's knowing that.....but either way, they are not perfect as a set of brand new tips should be. So for these things to look perfect on a car, Gary (or whoever) is going to have to have them heated up and spread to the proper gap.

In talking with Gary it is also evident that he is not saying that he did not get the tips for a *fair* price. The problem is not the money here. The problem is that these tips were advertised and purchased under the understanding and agreement that these were "brand new" and they are not.

Both of the parties here have reputable friends that have voiced their opinions. Lets not turn this into a fight, but rather get to the bottom of where these tips came from initially. Somewhere along the way these tips were advertised (or sold) with a false description of condition.

Gary did NOTHING wrong here.

Not everyone that lives in NY actually "enjoys" it.....aka your "yankee" reference. Joke or offense....either way, I take offense to that comment. Not everyone has control over where they live.

Well considering the smilee I would say I was joking. Secondly, I lived the first 20 yrs of my life in PA, so Im a northern noy myself. Sorry if I offened ya, sounds like ya are a bit touchy to me...another trait of a Yankee Joking again, relax.

As for the tips, I have bought plenty of **** "new" and when I got it I was slightly surprised. Esp an exhaust component. Alot of companies dont put alot of time into their product knowing its purpose on the vehicle. The seller has already stated he bought them direct and they were new. He ALSO said they were in his garage for almost a full year. I would expect slight wear just being moved around from place to place over that time period. Personally, I think Gary, although he has the right being the buyer, is being a lil over particular about this. They are EXHAUST TIPS.They will barely be seen. Slap em on there and enjoy the new look. No offnse, just my opinion.

Well Damn you want to get the measuring tape out! Wow. I think the reason I sent him pics was to decide if he wanted them or not and if he has wanting more than pics then he should have asked! It was his decision to buy them. I know the selling over the Internet is on an honor system and I have bought stuff that was not exact off the Internet but had to go about my business. I am sorry that he was wanting perfect (blue printed tips) and I didn’t supply him with but he also is responsible for asking all the questions before buying and I am responsible for give the answers. Like I stated I would refund his money (-) shipping and few$ for the trouble. And obviously it is about money since that’s one thing that makes the world go round and he was wanting $50 back to satisfy him.

Let him send them back(and he can go buy (blue printed ones for $300+) or lets drop it!

well as being a friend of silver z's....i think you guys need to relax considering that you put a
"buyer beware" on him even after he offered you your money back....if you dont want them send them back and ill buy them from silverz...so i would think that you need to retract your buyer beware statement
thanks
