KansasZ28 screwed me DO NOT DEAL WITH KansasZ28. He approached me about me doing some work on his car and insisted that it be done the same day, for which I opened my schedule and complied. After completion we agreed upon a price and a date of when I would be paid. After which, he went home and got on the internet he found that other people would have done the work cheaper and is now refusing to pay anything at all. Even after he agreed upon a price I was to be paid and a date I would be paid.

Does Kansas have a mechanic's lien law? Florida does, if you did work on the car & were not paid you contact the DMV & file a lien against the title. If the car ever sells, you are paid at that point, or he pays you to remove the lien.

i had a similar situation at a hot rod shop i worked at years ago my friend owned.
my friend let me do work for him for extra $ or parts deals. i did a motor swap in a caprice , all the stuff to convert to tpi except the wiring and a few lil nick nak stuff here n there i couldnt get done. busted my **** n got it all done in 1 day. the car owner had a agreement w/ the shop owner on payment + a partial trade on some parts. i was going to get the money, shop was going to get the parts. car owner brought the parts but not the money upon completion w/ a promise to be back the next da w/ the money... it was sunday banks were closed, friend had delt w/ him befor ect.... i heard it all n never got paid.
eventually i got my money but it wasnt worth everything i had to go through to get it back. i learned my lesson as im sure you did.
