That pitting is not shipping damage, when i pulle dout one of my old cams it had the same exact thing..

No, he didnt. he claims to have have overlooked them. at any rate, there is a resolution pending. I will keep this thread updated.

the pitting is typically caused by two things according to my research. 1. a manufacturer default and 2. improper spring pressure

im not saying anything to anyone. just saying if you know oyu sent the cam out and it didnt look like that the buyer could be taking pictures of his old cam that he pulled out of his car so he can get a free cam out of the deal. join date of febuary 2008 with 3 posts? could be someone creating a new account to rip you a new one

thats what i thought but i broke a valve spring a while back ...... then its the cylinder on the driver side 3rd one.... from the front of the car...then they called me a while ago to say it was cylinders 5 and 6 that couldve messed up! if im correct!

that cam is tore up and that damage isnt from shipping, sorry but i pulled a cam out of my LT1 awhile back and looked just like that. it was a CC306, that cam would eat up your lifters. and if he put a new cam and used the same ole lifters, that new cam is gonna look identical in a matter of months with some hard running on the engine. I heard a machine shop can fix cams like that but never did it nor do I think its feasable unless its like a super expensive, hard to find cam. you payed $300 for that? yes its either caused by defect or over tightening the vales, problem 2 is most likely.
