So..... I still only have $400 of the $1000. Received a text the other day saying that he will get me the "$600 ASAP." We'll see. Good thing, I'm good at holding my breath.

I bought an LS2 from him back around Feburary of 08. I picked up the engine from him in person, but the circumstances were strange. He met me at a shopping mall, not his house. The engine was supposed to be a complete ls2 from a TBSS with wiring harness, but when I arrived it was a basicly just a longblock with only the front accessories. No starter, no intake manifold, no wireharness, no ECM, no manifolds. He went back to his "house" and brought me the intake manifold.
The engine was well taped up, and looked to be in very good shape. He told me it came out of a friends moms TBSS that she smashed into a tree. He said he couldn't give me the harness and ECM because he needed them for insurance reasons. I wasn't about to make a big stink and not take the engine becuase I drove 6 hours one way to pick it up.
Got it home, the engine turned over fine with a wrench, and the plugs looked like they were barely used. My project car is still a project at this point, so I haven't run the engine.
Overall I wouldn't say the experience was horrible for me, but it was awfully fishy.

Meeting anywhere other than someones house or shop for an engine is sketchy as ****. This guy obviously doesn't have the proper tools to even store, or repair these engines. From the sounds of it, he's selling stolen parts.
TheBiz, shoot me a PM if you want to have some fun with this guy.

I had a similar situation. He also said it was from his moms crashed truck. I was all ready to drive 6 hours to meet his 20 yr employee who sweeps his "shop" at a Mcdonalds north of Detroit because he was tied up with the Dream Cruise. The night before I left I packed my stuff up and thought about bringing my .45 along just in case. It was at that point I called it off. Not worth it as everything pointed to a shady transaction. Unfortunately all of these motors look like warranty cores. There is some very sketchy **** going on north of Detroit.
I had to call my credit card co. to get my cash back as he was not willing to refund.
